houston isn't generally known for having black widows but there is a spider that is black and red that is still dangerous.. they are called the Red Black Spiders..
Red-Back Spiders
HIGHLY VENOMOUS - DANGEROUS - CAN BE DEADLY
Toxicity of venom - the Red-Back Spider can inflict a painful bite which can be fatal, especially to the young and elderly.
An effective anti-venom was developed in 1956.
Only a small amount of venom can cause serious illness, as the poison attacks the nervous system.
Medical attention should be sought as soon as possible.
Area of distribution - found across Australia, including Tasmania.
Habitat - this spider prefers dry habitats is often found in out houses, letter boxes, undersides of seats, in rubbish, such as empty cans, in the sub floor and other dark areas.
Electric lights attract their prey - moths, flies, mosquitoes and other insects.
Size - it's body size can vary greatly ... up to the size of a large pea.
The distinctive red-back marking may not always be present.
The red-back spider is generally recognised to be the same species as the USA "black widow" spider and the New Zealand "katipo" spider.

The weather you are having will be the cause and effect of spiders moving indoors. The wasp is the natural enemy of the tarantulla, so I believe if the spider is large enough, the wasp will attack. The wasp kills the spider and lays eggs within the body. Not all wasps are egg layers though. So if you have one, you probably will have the other. I use melathion spray in my yard and around the foundation/entry to the garage. Solved my problem.

Many insects increased with the high humidity the southwest had this year, e.g., roaches. Spiders increased because they eat the roaches.
Best to have an exterminator service, i.e., bug service, come out and spray. Maybe you only need it one time rather than monthly.
Wasps and birds eat spiders in the food chain. but, Black widow spiders can cause people and animals harm so this is not something you should ignore.

The dead ones could be the males that the females have eaten. We have them all over the place. The males are much smaller, don't know about the wasps though...

Black widow spiders are very risky and with one chew can kill with a pair of seconds. even however they are small they harm and you will quickly be on the floor lifeless, so the superb component to do is the two circulate away it on my own and enable it do what it needs, it ought to circulate away as quickly as the infant is born and do only no longer open your window or you call an authority on spiders and notice if he/ she will sparkling it. they are greater risky than a camel spider ( they chew you, your paralysed and that they eat your pores and skin).
