wear white socks in the area suspected. they will jump on you and you will be able to see them. My experience has Been, they are very difficult to get rid of because of the eggs and life cycle. they keep hatching! Mothballs, boric acid, or salt and baking soda will kill them. And of course many insecticides, just stay after them. took me about two weeks of continual application to get rid of them. We had a possum in our basement for about a week. I think that's where the fleas came from

You will see them on your pets if they have flea. Check their belly, and on their face. If you walk around the house with white socks you'll usually see them jump on for a free ride.

If you have pets, you'll need to get them on a product that will kill the fleas and break the flea life cycle. Frontline Plus or Advantage are good products. You can get them at the Vet.

To get rid of them in your house, you need to vacuum like crazy. The furniture, cushions and under the furniture and in the corners. Throw away the bag. Wash any pet bedding. And you'll want to get flea bombs. It's in an arousal can that you "set off" and leave the house. Follow the directions carefully on the package. You'll want to do this again in 7 to 10 days to kill any remaining fleas in your house. Yes, it's a hassle, but it does a great job.

You put on a pair of white socks and step into a dark room then turn on the light. If you have fleas they will be on the socks. Walmart has a powder that you sprinkle on the rugs...but get into the sides too and let stand as long as it says. If that doesn't work have someone spray for fleas. craftylady

Do you have a pet? Usually you'll find the fleas in the places that your pet likes to be. On the couch? In your bed?

One undeniable sign that you have fleas in your house is that YOU will start getting bites. They are small, bloody, and itch like crazy.

Use a flea bomb. Follow the directions on the label.

IF worse comes to worse, have the house fumigaated.
But try home remedies first...

I had a terrible problem in my yard one year, and my sister-in-law, who lives in the country and has chickens and dogs, told me what to do...

Buy plain yellow sulphur powder put some (about 4 tablespoons) in an old plate or pan you won't mind throwing away afterwards, set fire to the sulphur, and watch the fumes go across the floor or grass. It smells atrocious, but it worked for me...I did it twice in 8 days. (Do it once with only 2 tablespoons, in each room of the house that is infested, and make sure there is no one in the room, human or animal and avoid inhaling the fumes).

Air the rooms once you have finished

Make SURE you don't inhale it!!!

They also hatch every 7 days so sometimes you have to bomb more than once. We moved into a house that had fleas. I rented the rug doctor after the first bombing. Used really hot water and that killed them. If you have a steam cleaner I think that would work well.

if you have fleas in your home you will know. They attack at all times.
Set out bug bombs specifically for fleas and again after 2 weeks. This should take care of any that you may have.

Trust me, you would know if you have fleas in your home. If you do, you can buy Pinesol and put it in a spray bottle and spray it EVERYWHERE. Fleas hate Pinesol for some reason.
