I am looking for a NEW home. What do I need to do to get myself ready financially (besides pulling my credit score). What pitfalls should I look for when trying to purchase a new home? Anyone know good programs for first-time buyers?

Whoever wired things before did not use a consistant color pattern, and the wires are really hard to trace.

The pump has an automatic float switch built in that always turns it on when the water gets high and there is a switch at the helm that will turn the pump on even if the water isn't high enough to turn the float switch on.

There are 3 wires going to the pump, all grey, how do i tell which is which and how to wire a new pump?

Thanks!

Mike

I have a feeling that this question is going to attract many crude responses, but I really would like to know the answer.

It started beeping periodically so I assume the battery was low. I live in an apartment and have no ladder, but was able to get the battery out, just barely. But I can't reach it enough to get another one installed in it. Protection isn't a problem because there is another one in another room less than 10 feet away. The problem is that even though I removed the battery, the alarm is still doing the periodic beeping. I can't get a maintenance man until morning to put the new battery in. Any suggestions about why it's still beeping(with no battery) and how to silence it until morning?

I am starting a sort of theme in my bedroom and I want it to be blue and green. I want to paint my walls but I'm not sure what shades to paint them. Please just give me a link or website so I can check out the colors myself. Thank you!

I was considering using a sticky substace to stick two halves of two different seeds together but am afraid they won't grow.

I'm going on vacation and have no idea where the shut off valve is for my spigot, or the main shut off valve for the house. People can use my outdoor hose and I want to turn off access to the water before I leave. How do I do this?

When I flush my toilet it backs up into my bathtub and when I wash my clothes it floods the whole bathroom and I have used a snake and took the toilet off and stuck the snake through there and it worked for a while but its doing it again
