We Have been trying to grow Sweet Corn in our East Tenessee Garden for four years without any luck. It gets about 4 1/2 feet tall then starts turning yellow and stops growing before the ears develop, We have been watering 3-4 times a week and use a fertilizer packaged for gardens. A couple things I wonder about, does sweet corn need a certain fertilizer not included in the standard gardin mix we are applying? Or, is our plot too small to pollinate properly, (4 rows about 5 feet long). Or is it something else. We come from Northern Illinois, No problem there. There is good sweet corn grown here our farmers market has good corn every year. Any one have any ideas what our problem(s) could be? Thanks!
