When the tank gets low the ball-**** should drop and allow the water to flow in. If it is stuck up you need to take the ball and lever out ,after turning off the water, then check for free movement and the state of the small washer inside the part where the water enters. The washers are easily obtainable in a hardware shop.

Modern ballcocks can be adjusted by screwing them so that the ball will rise earlier...I think (I've had a drop of wine and it's been a while since I played with a ball, ****, but that's based on a genuine memory).

It is likely that some hard water deposits are causing it to hang up. You might be able to use some CLR or fine sandpaper to loosen it up.

check theres no water in the ball take it off and grease the arm check the bolts on the arm are't to tight....hope it works
