This is mainly for a chocolate lab named Hemmie who is currently in love with a pretty dog down the street. I would like to put up a chain link fence around the back side of the house to the garage. It is a pretty substantial area to fence in. I dont want my back yard to look like a prizon. Do I have to get a building permit or any other things to do this? How tall should the fence be for a dog who currently cannot jump? Should the fencing people have a contract with the exact cost on it, or will it vary a little? Do I have to have my property surveyed to know where the line is between me and the vacant lot next door since the fence is going to run along that line. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Also, are labs good diggers? If I spend a fortune to fence him in and he digs out. I may be at a loss.

Yes, they can be hunted in my state. I do, however, want to keep the cardinals, blue jays and finches. A food they do not like or spraying them with water?

I'm supposed to move to Queens in New York on August. So I have to find out new rent house.
My new company is located on astoria(46th ave.) I have two kids(5th and 7th grade)
I have to consider good school for kids and distance from new company.
I think it would be reasonable if the distance is in 20 miles or so from new comapny and it takes one hour to reach to company.
Actually, I start around 7 a.m.
I'm considering monthly rent charge with 3 beds for $1,800 to $2,300 or so.
Can you recommend the best place or town for me?
Thank you.

When I pull down on the string to turn on the light nothing happens. It won't click or anything. Can it be fixed? or is it time to say bye bye?

Everytime I go in the shower, it keeps on comming towards me and I don't know how to stop it. It is always a mess because the shower curtain wont close. Does anyone have any ideas on how to keep the floor dry and keep the curtain shut at the same time?

Knob dosent want to turn off or on. It acts frozen. Nor will it turn for hot or cold water.

I was making iced tea in a stainless steel pan. An emergency came up and I left (no lectures, please, I know how lucky I am).
Needless to say, the pan and contents burned. How can I get it clean? I've tried baking soda and a scouring pad.

I'm moving cross country and want to ship a bunch of my stuff. I have no furniture to send - just books, clothes, some electronic items, etc. What's the best way to send these? I care about price and safety (i.e., lack of damage), and less about speed. I'm trying to get an idea of how much it will cost me per pound.

We are Contractors and take safety very seriously, but we know that something like this exists. Home Depot does not have them. Normally we would use Firematic, but they are only back East.

My Grandma isn't capable of living by herself anymore and is moving in with my family.
The house has no AC except for two bedrooms. The living room area is horribly hot. We have a window fan in the bathroom which works great for that area but the living room windows are long and can't accommodate a window fan.
I don't want my Grandma, sister and Father to be sitting alone in the hot house all summer.

What are good ways to let the house cool down, if any?

I am wondering if anyone has really been protected by a house security System. I mean, there was an intruder, a fire, or something else that happened and the Alarm helped. Any personal stories and other sources are appreciated

The walls are dark green, and the carpet is brown. The ceiling and trimmings are in white. I wish I could repaint the walls but it's not an option.

Oh, also the room is very small. Is there anything that I could add that would make it look bigger?
