ask the local council - you may have to go on a waiting list.
Then check the legislation relating to that particular allotment and see whether you will be allowed to keep animals on it - if it is in a built up area then you may not be allowed to keep animals on it.
Good luck x x

You have to apply to your local council for an allotment. In some places they will allocate one straight away, in others you can wait YEARS for an allotment to become available. Sadly a lot of Councils are selling off allotments for Housing.
As a general rule you can NOT keep anysort of animal on an allotment.

I HAVE AN ALLOTMENT, AND I KEEP BEESAND HENS ON MINE,IT VARIES FROM COUNCIL TOCOUNCIL BUT MOST WILL ALLOW IT AS THE IDEA IS TO ENCOURAGE HEALTHY LIVING
MOST COUNCIL OFFICES WILL TELL YOU WHERE YOUR NEAREST IS BUT THERE MIGHT BE AWAITING LIST,
TRY PUTTING AN ADVERT IN YOUR LCAL PAPERTO SEE IF ANYONE HAS A BIG GARDEN THAT THEY WILL LET YOU PLANTOON FOR A SHARE OR YOU COULD CUT THE GRASS FOR THEM

It depends where you live. Ask at the council, it also depends on what animal. I doubt if thet'll let you keep a cow, pig or sheep on it.
