You will need to dig a whole hole first. Then you cut it in half using something sharp. You should then have two half holes. You can have half and your mate can have half.
Take some dirt away from the one half hole and add it to the other half hole. The exciting thing here is that the half hole that you take away from keeps getting bigger, while the half hole that you add to keeps getting smaller. This is not a normal pattern in the universal laws of physics, but it is certainly true with regards to holes (and, now, half holes).
When the one half hole is filled, you will be left with a half hole by itself.
It is a very time-consuming process, but you will save time if you focus on one half hole and your mate focuses on the other. If you and your mate keep your wits about you, neither of you will become a half wit (unless you already fall into such class).
