It looks so stupid when the lower branches are gone...pines aren't meant to be bare on the bottom...

We are building a screened porch. It will be entered through french doors. We'd like to keep the view from inside the house through those french doors as clear as possible.

What is the best choice of screen to maintain view. Is there a visibility rating system?

What are other important considerations for choosing screen for a completely new screened porch and how would you address them?

Stairs to yard just good sense or design nuisance?

I haven't been able to find any good books with design ideas for screened porch.

Because of a huge oak that is 10 feet from the back of our house, about three feet over from the right side of the french door, i need to have the right side wall of the porch run so that it will cross diagonally in front of the french doors - tho they will, of course, still fully open. The right wall should be about 18 feet long. What are the implications for roof design?

I want to update the bathroom because it is very old and ugly right now. I would like to put in a new tub, vanity, tile flooring, and paint the bathroom. Also, there are tiles on the wall in the shower.
I only have one bathroom in the house so I can't have the bathroom closed off for more than a day at a time. What should I work on first, second, etc..? It seems the floor makes sense to do first but then what? Please suggest. (also, if you've had it done by someone else, how much did it cost you?) thanks!

we have had a mouse for a few weeks now and all attemps to get rid of him have failed. Last night took the cake (and i'm sure he would if he could) i was sitting at the computer when what to my wondering eye should appear, no not Santa, but the mouse. He actually ran across my feet ewwww. And made several other appearences throughout the evening, all greeted with loud screams.. I think it must ahve been pretty loud as I managed to set my daughters car alarm off, over the phone. Even got my hubby up who sleeps like there is no tomorrow.
But we have amde several attemps at ridding ourselves of this mouse. Mousetraps with peanut butter, mousetraps with cheeze whiz, bait and mouse box with bait. And nothing but now this guy thinks we are his freinds as he comes out to watch a movie with us. Oh should mention we have a crawling baby and a two year old not to mention old yeller our pooch, anyway advice would be welcome, thanks...

I've been told that doing dishes by hand is the same amount of water as doing them in the sink. There is only hubby, baby and me in the home and I do dishes sometimes twice a day. (mostly once, after supper) I do rince my dishes but only put about 1/4 sink full of water in the 2nd sink? Should I be ussing the dishwasher after all?

The water flowed from the kitchen and flooded the whole house within two hours.(It happened in the middle of the night) Now the wood flooring buckles up like the road hump and seems likely it will split into two soon. The landlord wants me to compensate for the damage. Is he at fault or is it my fault? Should not he check that everything is in order when he rented the house to me?I am just a person who knows how to turn on and off a tap.I don't know anything about pipes, does it constitute a misuse of the facilities? After changing the water valve, it was discovered that it had rusted internally. So now, can yahoo users tell me in your opinion who is in the wrong?Help me solve my predicament.

The flagpole is about 20 foot tall, the existing rope is off, so I can't thread a new one to it. I can't use an extension ladder, as the pole will bend, or I'll be injured. The "truck" or pulley is covered, only the bottom half of the pulley is visable
