Check the sales ads in your newspapers. Many hardware stores will have good sales soon because of the end of the season. You can buy a reconditioned used one at mower shops but remember it is used. I would not buy one from an ad in the paper, because you do not know what problems you may end of paying for later. Most people use their lawn mowers heavily until they are completey worn out.

Look in the newspaper--the classified section. You could always go to a local general auction--those are usually always there. Plus you could ask your neighbors if they know of anyone. Look in the phone book for some repair type services or landscapers and such. People who mow lawns or provide that service would be able to point you in the right direction. Plus you can always look on line like on EBay or type in a search for discounted items.

Also keep an eye out for "reconditioned" equipment at Home Depot. I got a reconditioned echo weed eater for about 20% off. Not like after you use it once it isn't used anyway. And I also know someone who bought 2 lawnmowers at Walmart and returned them both b/c of problems.

Look in the want ads in your local paper. Try Craigslist.com. Sometimes stores like Wal-Mart get returns and will mark those down.
