Just moved into a house with central AC, York Model E1FB024S06A. Turned on thermostat and got nothing. Checked circuit breaker, looks fine. There is a unit on the wall of the house next to the compressor unit (I guess that is what it is called) with a sort of switch that you pull out and turn upright or upside down and plug back in to turn it on or off, it is set to on. Is there a switch somewhere on the compressor unit outside or the other part of the unit that is laying on the drip pan which is in the attic. I know absolutely nothing about AC units so I apologize if I do not know what the parts are called but before I call a repairman, I would like to find out if it is something as simple as a power switch that I am not seeing. The house was empty for about 2 years and they may have somehow turned it off when they winterized the house. I appreciate anyone's help on this.
