Just moved into a house with central AC, York Model E1FB024S06A. Turned on thermostat and got nothing. Checked circuit breaker, looks fine. There is a unit on the wall of the house next to the compressor unit (I guess that is what it is called) with a sort of switch that you pull out and turn upright or upside down and plug back in to turn it on or off, it is set to on. Is there a switch somewhere on the compressor unit outside or the other part of the unit that is laying on the drip pan which is in the attic. I know absolutely nothing about AC units so I apologize if I do not know what the parts are called but before I call a repairman, I would like to find out if it is something as simple as a power switch that I am not seeing. The house was empty for about 2 years and they may have somehow turned it off when they winterized the house. I appreciate anyone's help on this.

Thank you all for your help. I checked the disconnect box with the pull out switch outside but I am not totally confortable with taking it apart. The other one must be in the attic which is wayyyy too hot to go up into at the moment so I will try first thing in the morning to find it. If that doesn't work, then I guess I will have to call a HVAC person. There just does not seem to be any juice whatsoever getting to the thermostat or units. It seems as though there is no power to it at all and the breaker box is fine.

Okay, I crawled up into the attic today and turned on two switches in the side of the unit. Now the EM light is on for the heat on the thermostat but nothing happens. No fan at all. When I switched it to cold and oput the fan to on, the power of the house flickered but htat was it. The unit outside is not turning on at all. I was wondering where the fuses are on the outside fuse block. All i see is the plug that pulls out so you can connect or disconnect. Are th fuses inside where the plud goes in? Do I have to unscrew that to find the fuses. I do not believe the AC unit is wired into the house's main fuse panel. I turned off all the breakers and the light was still on on the thermostat. It has its own source somewher ein the house. It may be under the house in the crawl space. Any ideas?
