Before I invest in one and go to the trouble of creating an electrical outlet I want to be sure the water will stay cool enough to suffice as a bird bath. I live in S. Florida and even in the shade the water in a regular bird bath gets too warm for the birds to cool off and 'bathe'.

I have just found lots (over 50) very big ants with wings in my kitchen, along with many other "normal" sized ants. There were no ants in the kitchen less than an hour ago but the external door was left slightly open.

I've sucked up all the ants I can find with the vacuum cleaner but does anyone know what having that many flying ants that suddenly could mean? Am I in danger of major infestation if I miss any? Should I call a professional exterminator? Can you get an exterminator for ants?

I live in Yorkshire in the UK.

I hate to buy a new hose and cut it down. Just was wondering if they make them especially for that purpose.

We just installed really nice (expensive) carpet. Due to a malfunction in our sprinkler system some water came into our newly finished basement and got the carpet wet.

This all happened while we were out of town. We we got home we noticed the wet carpet and a mildewy smell.

We pulled the carpet up in that area to dry out the pad beneath, and have a fan blowing on the carpet but I have a feeling that smell is going to remain.

Any advice from someone who has been here before?

I am celebrating my 40th birthday this November and want to have a party at my home. I'd like to be able to use the garden - at the very least, as a haven for the smokers.

I've had a look at marquee hire but all the ones I have found are for bigger spaces - my garden is about 40ftx40ft. I guess I could get a few patio heaters. Anyone got any better suggestions?

It is very upsetting. I planted them in the wrong spot because I did not know that the sunflowers would NOT move with the sun. I just found out they LOCK EAST when mature. I planted them to enjoy them from the West and I really would like to FORCE them to face West without damaging the plant. Help!! Thanks.

I am having issues with the toilet in the upstairs bathroom. I tried Draino to clear the pipes but it didn't really resolve it. The water does not empty out completely and some of the floaties & toilet paper remains. I have to flush a few times to get everything all cleared out. Anyone have any quick fixes?

I recently moved to the east coast of Canada from Toronto. My backyard is infested with ant hills & ants. They are coming into the house & I would love to know how to SAFELY get rid of them. I don't want it to bother the wildlife &/or birds that live on my land. Thanks for the info!
