My shallots have flowered and I wonder if the seeds can be planted to produce next years crop of shallots?

I mostly plant my shallots from bulbs but would like to see if the seed of the flowed will produce a shallot. Does anyone know if this will work?

If you germinate the seeds, they will eventually turn to bulbs. Get a rooting bed and when they start growing a stalk, they should have a Small bulb under.
