is it normal to see a bat during a hot day sleeping up in the tree? when i looked up at it, it flew down and dont know where it went, they used to live in my attic, we have alot of bats around here; i live 10 min from the adirondack mountains

Yes, very normal...Bats are nocturnal animals and sleep during the day. We have bats here too...I watch them at night. Not all bats sleep in caves, some sleep in trees.

I have bats too. Sure, that is normal, they sleep in the trees and awake in the late evening to eat the flying bugs. It may have woken up because it was disturbede or hungry and saw something it could eat, thus swooping down and going back to rest elsewhere.
