I have owned gas lawn trimmers made by Weedwacker, made by Poulan, and made by Craftsman. All have serious problems and I would not by their product again. What gas powered lawn trimmer has a good reputation for starting, for refilling the string, and for advancing the line while the machine is in use?

I paid $425.00 for a commercial grade Toro weedeater in 1992 and have used it hard. It still starts with one pull. I have had to buy a couple of readily available plastic parts over the years, and I have maintained it carefully. I still use it every few days.

I know people who buy a cheap $70.00 trimmer every year and throw it out when it quits. You do the math.

Good luck with your yardwork.

Stihl weed trimmers are the best.
I'm a landscaper and use one every single day. They start, run, and work great. Loading them is easy as well.
You will spend more money on a Stihl but have less trouble with them. You get what you pay for.
The web site below will locate a Stihl retailer near you.

You can`t beat a commercial grade Echo, best there is. I have a Homelite and for about 100 bucks, it has worked out pretty good. I have`nt tried Stihl trimmers but their chain saws are good.

Stihl is the only way to go if you will use it a lot. They are great, but expensive. You can also get plastic blades instead of line, that way you don't have to change them all the time.

Husqvarna is a great brand with great gas trimmers. I highly recommend them.
