Hi! I have a large 30 lb mirror I would like to hang on my wall. The problem is the wall I can put it on has studs in the wrong places and all I have to work with is drywall. Is there any special screws made for this. I am sure it is common ?
Thanks!
(Studs are at each end of my wall, and mirror has to go in the middle)

We had to pull up some carpet in our 80 YO house. We completed several rooms without incident, and had very few issues (mainly cosmetic). We got to the final room today, which is a high traffic family room. The carpet was damaged in several places, so as we had in the other rooms, we started at the edges and worked our way into the center. All looked well until we hit the very middle- there is an 8 by 10 spot of painted floor.

Under normal circumstances, I might not be alarmed, but since the house is older, I am very concerned that the paint might contain lead. We have a small child and pets, so the concern is compounded. We have been so careful, and I am absolutely heartsick that we may have put our child in any sort of danger.

It is Sunday, and I need a game plan. Can anyone give me some short term (and long term) suggestions? Money is really tight, so the more we can do ourselves, the better, but I will find the money if we need to do something to make it safe for our family.

My 4 year old son (yes, he's too smart for his own good) locked my bedroom door, and tried to "fix it" by using his daddy's screwdriver and taking the doorknob off. The problem is the locking mechanism is still stuck in the door. How do I get it out without breaking the door down?

My husband and I are thinking of using this company to build a home in SW Colorado. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated - we would be working with a contractor to coordinate everything.

We need to brighten up the front of our house and want to use solar lighting, but most solar lights just give off that blue glow and not really alot of light. I'm willing to pay for good ones, just wondering if there are any good ones?
