Does anyone know the technical name for what I have always known it as 'water grass'? How do you kill the stuff?! I am in the midwest.

For Oak tress and other trees, can this be done? I think of this because i really feel some places in my city don't have any shade and we need it.. it's getting really hot around here. I have never seen it, but do grown trees ever get pulled out and planted in other places?

HELP! We're under attack by seemingly invisible mosquitoes. I managed to smack one the other day and it was such a pale color of beige and only about half a cm in size that it was nearly invisible. Is this in fact a mosquito? We live in Alexandria, Egypt and we've seen regular old mosquitoes a lot. This year, not so much. Just these evil little white things we can't see but bite like crazy. Anyone down with entymology??

We emptied our large, in ground, concrete swimming pool to clean it. My husband became ill and we left the pool empty for about 2 months. One day, we notice one end was trying to come up out of the ground! Pool experts said to fill it with water immediately and maybe it would settle back into the ground. It did for the most part but, of course, damage (cracks, patio concrete, etc...) had already happened. Now, we are afraid to take the water out for repairs. Any suggestions?

I have a candle holder similar to this:
http://ww1.potterybarn.com/cat/pip.cfm?src=schi1%7Cp1%7Cwcandle&pkey=sa1s00candle&gids=p2698
but instead of having the rims for the votive holders, it has a flat surface. I would like to know what to put on them. I can put the votive holders but I would like another idea. Thanks
