Lots of water. It is very hot and dry for the most part in Arkansas so need to water a lot to keep the grass going and do not mow too short. The shorter you mow to the more water and the worse the burning of the grass you will get. Leave it at least 3 to 4 inches long and give it plenty of water and you should be able to get it back soon.

Why on earth would you want a lawn in Arizona? Go with the natural plants. You'll save tons of water, energy and grief! Do your homework and study the plants that are indiginous to Arizona. Look at the beautiful and creative cactus gardens in your new town and see how they space the plants and use rock as groundcover. This can become a wonderful learning opportunity for you!

If you've got a brown lawn this time of year, it's dead. Roto-till the whole thing, smooth it out and re-seed. Or lay sod. Bermuda is a good warm season turf, as it zoysia and centipede. I'd stay away from fescue- not very heat tolerant.
