my boyfriend refuses to smoke outside so i'm wondering becuase i know smoke stains objects and walls. How do i keep the walls clean and fresh and also objects from staining?

I have just replanted a young mulberry tree that miraculously grew up in a secluded spot in my yard. It is located more appropriately now away from foundations. I have read up and I was especially happy that birds love them but from what I understand, they can get quite messy underneath during the fruit bearing stage.

Do you have any tips or tricks I can use in the future to keep the area clean?

I am remodeling the den. I want to replace the flooring, replace the wall paneling w/ sheetrock and paint. I also would like to paint the ceiling. The room currently has no phone jack, needs more electrical plugs and cable run to the room. I also would like to replace the picture window w/ a bay window.

We have a really small apartment (900 sq ft) and it faces south/west (maximum sun exposure). The building does not have air conditioning and the windows are not desigend to support standard window mounted air conditioners.

We are nervous to buy a portable air conditioner. I read consumer reports and they gave portable air conditioners very poor ratings.

Have you tried them and do they work? If you have had a positive experience, which one would you recommend?

I have an outbreak of silverfish in my bathroom. They have been there for 7 years but each summer they tend to multiply in numbers. Think they are living under my bath This year is particularly bad and at night time my bathroom floor is covered. Does anybody know how to get rid of them. Have been to the gardening shops and B+Q etc etc but can find nothing. My bathroom does not have a window in it, but a dehumidefying system
