First black... then get lots of UV paint in lots of colours and go wild, maybe patterns or artwork or just splatter stuff, Flouresncet lap shades etc...
Then get lots of UV lights and you have your own nightclub, that looks real cool... Possibly be white sheeting to help in the day

I'd say white, cream, dark grey, a medium toned blue that coordinates with the furniture, or a pale but sunny yellow. Any of those would look fine with the furniture and make it pop out against the walls. Also, since it's a bedroom, none of them are too bright or wild - although, if that's what you want, you could do it, but most people want a calmer bedroom.

Personally I would go with an antique white, the blues from your furniture will compliment the colour and create a clean, calm, and relaxing atmosphere - ideal for a bedroom. It will also have plenty of light during the day which will emphasise the space creating a larger room.

The use of color is also something very personal. It stimulates our senses, power our mood, and helps create a particular ambiance. How we respond to an individual color depends on our nature, extroverts tend to feel happy with bold colors, while introverts prefer more passive colors.
Through using specific combinations of color, combined with a careful consideration of simple color schemes is often the most effective.
Try not to use more than one or two principal colors in a room, as well as a contrasting or balancing tone. The best way to choose a background color for the room is to trial with a palette of different shades and tones, in combination with the color and textures of the furniture and materials. Remember the general color schemes of a home have to be in agreement. The walls define the space in a room, while the colors, to a large degree, define the mood.
Colored light, furnishing materials, and structural proportions, we can create a home that is welcoming, helpful, and comfortable. Walls are similar to background music: each color tone is like a musical note can create a pleasant-sounding harmony while others grate with each other.
The color with which we surround ourselves will without doubt have an effect on us, and so it is important to feel comfortable with our choice. A discussion with a professional color consultant can help to decide individual needs and select appropriate color.
Colors can be divided into three main groups: those that stimulate and uplift, those that relax and calm, and those that provide harmony or balance. So, having taken a number of things into thought when decorating a room, such as the size of the space, the amount of light, the function if the room, and the style and mood we wish to create, we finally, and most importantly, need to consider the needs of the people who use it.

OK...here is what you do. Go to the store and find a nice throw pillow in a pattern with the color of your furniture in it....and then pick out two other colors from the pattern. Use the lightest one for the walls and the other one for trim/or accents. Decorators use this trick all of the time. It doesn't have to be a pillow, just something you really love colorwise...a painted plate, a piece of art; whatever....since you already have the colored furniture, it would make sense to use it. Good luck.

Dont go for white as it will feel cold. Best to go for a neutral colour and brighten the room up with accessories such as a throw, cushions, rug etc. Best thing to do is go to your local diy/paint store and bring home some colour charts for natural coloured paints. Find one that goes really well with your furniture but not too unusual as it will date quickly and you'll get bored with it.

I'd say beige because i saw light blue/grey furniture with this on tv prog and it looked great
normally i'd not have thoght of that as a good colour but it gave it a really serene relaxed feel and if you pick out accents of the light blue with cushions on the bed say
if you're not mad on beige for the whole room you could have say one feature wall in that colour and the rest in white
also depends how large the room is
avoid dark colours if it's a small room (will feel even smaller)
this bedroom has some light blue accents with grey
http://www.bbc.co.uk/homes/design/design_inspiration/factsheets/384.shtml
but not the beige i mentioned
if you have a look through that bbc lifestyle site though you will find great advice and logic on colours, lighting and complementary colour "accents"
http://www.bbc.co.uk/apps/ifl/homes/queryengine?templatestyle=designdropdown&config=&sort_1=DATE&sortsense_1=DESC&page=1&pagesize=10&attribute_1=ROOM&operator_1=re&value_1_1=Bedroom&val_1_1=Design&attrib_1=DATABASE&oper_1=re&bool_1=AND&attribute_2=STYLE&operator_2=re&value_2_1=&val_2_1=Bedroom&attrib_2=ROOM&oper_2=re&bool_2=AND&attribute_3=COLOUR&operator_3=re&value_3_1=&val_3_1=&attrib_3=&oper_3=&bool_3=AND&attribute_4=PROGRAMME&operator_4=re&value_4_1=&val_4_1=&attrib_4=&oper_4=&bool_4=AND&attribute_5=CELEBRITY&operator_5=re&value_5_1=&val_5_1=&attrib_5=&oper_5=&bool_5=AND&val_6_1=&attrib_6=&oper_6=&submit.x=20&submit.y=12
also , have you considered the floor colour and the curtains too ?
they maybe more costly than replacing furniture if they don't match your the colour scheme on your walls
and the floor is one of the largest surface areas of the room
though you maybe able to get nice rugs if you don't want the expense of redoing the floor
good luck!
I'm painting mine next weekend - going for white and red - i have no furniture yet and i just like red on the fireplace wall, but don't fancy a whole room full of it. a bit like this diniing room white with red accents http://www.bbc.co.uk/homes/design/design_inspiration/factsheets/156.shtml
i don't want anything too girly either
so it's compatible with both male and female partners

You should do your walls in a dark blue, but not too dark. Then you should have a border of white. You could also put white throw pillows on your furniture. Some white curtains wouldn't hurt either.

Id choose a blue thats a subtle match to your furniture for a main wall and then for the rest use a pale shade for restfulness.

I think you should paint your room, which coordinates with your funiture so look at a darker blue but not too dark with maybe a cream, maybe a border with a nice comprimising colour.
