I am fascinated by the increasing knowledge they are finding on the topic of migraines. I get the classic fireworks, aura, sensitivity to light, increasing nausea with a terrible crescendo of the nausea till its so bad I cannot sit, stand, breath, anything. Then...usually within 24-48 hours, it breaks and the relief is almost instantaneous.

In general I have a high pain tolerance (I can get my finger caught in a door, stub my toe so hard that it bleeds, or hit my head really hard without even wincing), but when someone touches my shoulder it HURTS and I feel this wave of irrational irritation. Why are my shoulders so sensitive?

(I have some chronic pain too, but I was wondering about this in particular.)

I would like to know if there is anything i could do to reduce his intake. He takes 40mg of a painkiller that is normally reserved for cancer patients. This is for servere pain in his legs, for arthritis and for a knee replacement in his other leg which did not work. His doc says he cannot have his knees replaced now because he takes warfarin for blood clots. I'm at my wits end, he can hardly walk. I know he is only 69 but he feels like he has been thrown on the scrap heap.

This is a question for any one who has had or knows anything about this injury.

The doctor seems to think ive strained the muscle in my neck. My neck is tender and i get shooting pains from my neck, up to the back of my head, when i try to turn my neck to look in a different direction. The strain is actually twisting my neck so Im only sort of comfortable when I go with it and am left facing west even though the rest of my body is sitting normally.
Ive been prescribed something for the inflamtion, and to help me sleep as thats when its worse, when I keep in my head facing one direction for any lenghth of time..it feels like the muscles lock or harden, so i need to gentley massage it by very slowly moving my head and neck to either side.

(Question)
Im just curious if there are other things i could be doing at home to help or ease the discomfort?

Im 13 years old.

Originall only my right upper leg hurt but now my left does and so do both my hips.
I think the pain is my bone because its not like muscle soreness. The pain comes on really suddenly too. Even if Im not doing anything. It isnt there all the time either. Its more like a pang.

I dont think its growing pains because I got my period almost 3 years ago and am just a bit taller then my mother, so im pretty sure I have stopped growing. (i was an early developer).

Right now the pain is throbbing in my upper right leg.

What should I do??
Is it serious...??

Thanks
xxx

i am on prescription topamax, which i take up to 200mg a day, keep the room dark and NO sound, and water intake a max, and eat normal, and at the most, i take a sleeping pill, cause i need to sleep it off. and call a babysitter to watch my son. what other natural and non natural things do you do. ONce at the ER they gave me a shot of tramadol and nubane, that was the BEST thing for my migraine, along with phenagran for the nausea. that is what works for me.

Today I woke up feeling kind of sick, and all day I have been having this fluttering right between my rib cage. It does not favor one side or the other, left or right, it's right in the middle. When I am I just sitting, it feels like I am having heartburn, and when I push on the area It feels worse. It's not unbearable, but it is extremly uncomfortable. Does anyone have any clue what this fluttering is?

About 2 weeks ago I had a toothache and started getting tension headaches along w/ the toothache. A week later my toothache went away but the headaches did not. Last week I started getting spells of lightheadedness and nausea and have had some blurry visions and light sensitivity. This is going on 3 weeks now and they are not migraines I've had 2 migraines before ans I'm incapacitated when I have one so this is different. What I want to know is how soon should I see a doctor, my co-worker is on vacation right now and I'm in the process of finding a new doctor.

I know that usually pain means that your actually hurting your body, but in this case it doesn't. So, since I have a high pain tolerance is it okay if I continue with normal activities and ignore the back & muscle pain?

I've been told that I have swelling inside my bones and that's why I've been in so much pain these days. I have Avascular necrosis where your bone dies and you eventually have to have joint replacements. I have had 2. This is so painful I just have to sit down and cry! The xrays and MRIs state that there's nothing wrong really, with the bone but I know that there has to be cuz I've felt this pain before. My GP I think, is going to set me back up with my orthopod. Any thoughts about swelling inside of bones would be VERY helpful. I know all about AVN but never heard of internal bone swelling! Help please!?!?!?!

I've long suspected her of doing this and she has always denied it up until this morning. I went to take my RX this morning and the bottle looked light so I counted them and came up QUITE a few short. I confronted her and at first she denied and finally she admitted to me that she had taken them. I am not talking 2 or 3 im talking more than 20. To cap it off she has her own RX for pain. I am diabetic have have nueropothy problems and arthritis which I take the painkillers for. She has her own RX for her back. A relationship is nothing without trust and now the slight trust i had in her is completely gone! I want to have nothing else to do with her and told her to leave but she won't! Both of our names are on the lease so I don't know what my options are for getting her out. please help
