Costochondritis is a possible cause it is inflammation of cartilege that attaches to the ribs. Pleurisy is an infection or inflammation of the lining around the lungs.
See if you have a fever of 100 or above that is a symptom of possible infection and you should make an appt. to see your Dr.
Endocarditis is inflammation of the inner layer of the heart.
Any of these needs to be addressed by a Dr.

However if you are experiencing shortness of breath, feeling cold and clammy, sweating profusely, nauseated, and the pain is a crushing sensation you may be having a heart attack. Call 911

There can be many reasons for this pain, you could be having rib cage muscle spasms, stomach problems, gallbladder problems, or appendicitis. You need to see your medical doctor as soon as possible to get an examination and find out what is wrong.
