Ok..so I ran a 5k Race about 4 days ago, and my ankle still hurts from it. Yesterday at cross country practice it hurt soo much after we did striders, and I could barely walk on it. When I got home, it was swollen. Today I can walk on it and its not swollen anymore, but it still hurts when I go down stairs and theres a sort of a dull ache. I took today off from cross country, do you think I should take tomorrow off too? We have a 6:30 AM practice.

I have been on the duragesic patch (50mcg/h)for the last year. I change them every 48 hours. I also take Lorcet(10/650) 4 times daily for chronic back pain. My doctor says he can put me on the oxycotin if I want but I am not sure which is the best for pain. Should I take just the oxycotin and stop the others??? I am really tired of these patches but they do work.

I am a university student and I live off-campus on a large hill. My shins have been hurting something terrible when ever I walk and if I try to turn my toes towards my legs. I've been perusing the internet and Yahoo answers for help and what I see is mostly to stop walking. Since walking is how I get anywhere, that's not really an option. I've also heard ice is good. Is there any other advice?

So yesterday my neck started hurting. I didn't think much of it until it kept on hurting and when I felt my neck in the front there was a lump right near the middle of my neck kind of behind one of the muscles. It's still there today, and the lump hurts when I touch it and also when I swallow. Any ideas of what it could be? Should I get an appointment at the health clinic down here at college and have them look at it?

I need to find some good pictures of spine x-rays taken during epidural injections for pain, discograms, or medial branch blocks. I operate the C-arm at my job, and I am making a notebook for the new people who come to work to use as a guide. THANKS A MILLION!!!!

Had the painkillers, but they're not touching it. Is heat or cold applied helpful or would it make it worse.

Okay, not sure if this will help but I'm 13 years old. I've been having a come-and-go pain in my stomach. Last night, it felt like someone stabbed me a million tabs everytime I moved. It took about an hour to an hour and a half for it to calm down. Then, I fell asleep. I woke up at about 6 A.M. and now it just hurts to move. I had a lowgrade fever in the morning and it feels like I stretched a muscle or pulled something in my stomach. It started near my lower chest and gradually moved its way down to... well, erm.... my privates if you know what I mean. I feel achy all over. Please help me. We don't have the money to go to the doctors right now but I wanted a good guess at what might be wrong. I've never felt this way before and I'm very worried. Please help.

Question Details: In the past, I took a lot of Tylenol for my extreme migraines and menstrual cramps. I recently learned that Tylenol (or any acetaminophen) can really damage your liver. I want to know if I can reverse the damage that might occur, or prevent it from occurring. Also, are there any natural alternatives to ease migraine/cramp pain? I know some OTC painkillers are plant based, but I don't know if acetaminophen is. Please help.

I have learned some things about the best exercise for people with my condition, but I would like to know more. I have started Tai-Chi and I've heard adult tricycles are great(I'm planning on getting one), but I would like some more options. I would especially like answers from other fibro patients, or other people with conditions that limit them to low-impact exercise.
What do you do? What feels best for you?

I had a laminectomy & discectomy 17 days apart, now I've got to have a bi-level fusion, all within 6 mos., I've had more pain since surgery, than b 4 surgery. Then I just recently found out that the pain mgmt doc that my surgeon sent me to, that performed several epidural injections, myelogram and a disco gram, isn't even board certified to do that work, all he is , is a rehab therapist. A recent MRI, showed a re-herniation at the same level operated on twice, and they say my back is in worse shape now, than b 4 surgery. Serious answers only please.

I know that this is a kind of crazy question because you should always take medication as prescribed but I am worried about my mom. She has neck pain and instead of taking them like she is supposed to, she takes them like she wants. She also can take one and then do normal activities.(dishes, cooking, laundry, taking out the trash) here is the rest of my question, if you can do all of that do you even need to take the medicatin at all? When I had severe trouble with my back and spine I would still be in severe pain even after meds and I don't know if she is really as sick as she says since she is still so active. Please help. Thanks.
