customs is not going to be fooled by them being in a diff bottle. remember this is their job. they have seen every trick in the book. vicodin is a prescription drug in mexico, but there are shady pharms that might sell it to you. however they may also sell you fake vicodin as they are already breaking the law, and they know you will be long gone soon, and not likely to complain to the cops if you are cheated.

do you really want to end up with a felony on your record or serving jail time? if you smuggle a lot in (as you probably would since its a long trip), they are going to tack on an intent to sell charge as well. if you think workmans comp docs are tough wait til you have to deal with prison docs.

If you really have a problem warranting taking pain killers, see a pain specialist. they are not afraid to write pain med prescriptions and they also know what would be the best one for you. vicodin is murder on the liver, probably some other pain killer would be better.

Without an Rx...NO! But some pharmacies (in border towns) will gladly refer you to a healthcare practioner nearby to obtain a prescription that they will gladly fill. I know this to be true from personal experience unless the Mexican government has changed the classification of the drug in recent years; Like the USA changes a drug to OTC (which by the way isn't to benefit the public but for the insurance companies so they don't have to cover it and the pharmaceutical co. are still making a killing with the exorbitant prices of their proprietary OTC drugs). Some states' work comp. regs. allow you to request a doc of your choice after an X amount of time. Best of Luck with W.C.

no you cannot get any type of medication you want in mexico. things like narcotics still need a prescription. i highly discourage trying to fill an ibuprofen bottle with something other than ibuprofen and going across the border. especially with something like a narcotic. try explaining that one to customs. it just isn't worth it, at least in my mind.

if you buy prescription meds in mexico, be careful they are safe. some meds that require a prescition from a dr here are readily available over the counter in mexico.
