Pain & Pain Management - July 2007

I'm a 26 year old male, I have never had heartburn in my life(not even a mild episode). I had a tonsillectomy about three weeks ago and since then I have had SEVERE heartburn(if this is even heartburn). The pain/burning begins right above my sternum and end above my adams apple. It does NOT matter what I eat or drink the burning starts and hurts, this even includes milk. Does anyone know if this is related to the tonsillectomy or what might be causing this.

Also, I am in good shape(i play rugby for my college) so this is not a weight issue and again I have never had heartburn before. Please Help!

i have arthritis in my back pretty bad but i also have a stomach full of ulcers and can*t take asprin..know anything good?

So i was late to work today, so i rushed, and forgot to eat breakfast, which has included coffee for the past 5 years.

so now, i have a terrible headache, and my eyes hurt from the headache.

I ate, but did not have any caffeinne today.

I got home, and had some tea, since it has some caffeinne,
then i took 2 aspirins, and 3 Ibuprofens.
10 mins later i had a coca-cola and a tylenol.

and now i'm on my 6th cup of coffee.

is this healthy???

these head pains, make me shake, fell sick, fell weak, faintish, it effects my speach and the way i walk, i'v been complaining to my g.p, but they are not takeing me serious, what i'v been taking for is is syndol & nurofen which takes the edge off, if you have any advice,please reply.

i have pain in my lower right area to the right of the belly button it doesn't really hurt much but it still annoys me its mostly around the waist on the right i feel hungry all the time and don't feel thirsty even though i do drink quite a bit of water i also feel really tired and need the toilet quite a bit i have no fever or loff of apetite help when it does hurts its liek a knife stabbing its to the right side of the belly button and in the middle to the right help

So, I have a terribly bad sunburn on both my shoulders, though my left shoulder is worse, from being out in the sun for 8 hours.

My shoulders are almost a purplish color and my left one is all lumpy and disgusting from blisters. I don't mean one or two blisters here and there, I mean my shoulder is like, a lumpy mess. I can't sleep for more than a half an hour at a time at night because the front and back of my shoulders both hurt and it's impossible to lay down like that.

Does anyone know the best thing to put on a sunburn like that?

I tried some aloe vera aftersun thing, and it's not helping a bit. I also heard putting vinegar on blisters helps, but I hear it hurts really bad....

any ideas?

The pain is in the same spot right behind my left eye. If I take Ibuprofen and the pain goes away . I have to take 600 mg every 2 times a day. morning and evening. I thought it was sinus but i'm not congested. Any Idea what it is?

my mom has a lot of pain in her arm, shoulder and sometimes around her shoulder blade....she has been to a doctor and they said that she has tendonitis (sp?)...does anyone no any homemade pain relievers that can help her...she takes ibeprofen (sp?) but it usually doesn't take all the pain away...

One of the exercises I do is to do a half press-up, then move back onto my knees with my arms forwards to stretch my back, and then to move forwards into a press-up position again. I repeat this several times, but every time I move forward into the press up position there is a loud click in the small of my back, and I can feel it too. It doesn't hurt, but I am worried that I might be doing some damage. My back also clicks when I lie on my back and raise my right leg, but it doesn't click when i raise my left leg.

Does anyone out there know about backs? Should I stop worrying or should I see an osteopath or something?

I am living abroad at the moment, so it is difficult for me to get to see anyone.

Right before bed i lay down and start to relax, but then a pain hits my ribs, i roll over and over in differant positions but nothing works at all. I am bone tired and very frustrated because i want to sleep but the pain keeps me awake, and when i do fall asleep i wake up a few hours later, never to sleep for the rest of the night.
My husband also has this problem sometimes. I am 20 and he is 24, we have a matress that is kinda firm, but we've had it 3 years and i've never had this problem before.
I have had the problem before i was with my husband from sleeping on the floor or a matress on the floor. I am really angry and frustrated, I can't sleep and my doctor told me to change my position but nothing helps!! What should i do?

I'm in vacation now. I got my period and my stomach hurt like hell. I ate painkiller. I feel very weak sometimes even passing out and will vomit. I can't play or do nothing. I can barley walk. But I’m force to go out with my family. My dad doesn’t want to leave me alone in the hotel. I went to the doctor and he said it's nothing to worry about. I also heard that drinking water a lot may help, and I was wondering how it will help me?? Wat can stop my pain????

I have lower arm pain, below the elbow. (forearm) Have had test for Carpal Tunnel and was told that I don't have Carpal Tunnel Sydrome. X-rays from the spine and shoulder all clear. No pain from the shoulders or upper arm. Pain comes and goes. More pain at rest. Cramps in my hand/s during the evening which eventually disappear after falling asleep. Once I get going I'm fine. Could this be arthritis or RSI? Do rest my arms but to no avail. Have been on medication, nothing helps. Any suggestions? Isa

I have been diagnosed with fibro for almost 3 years, but I have suffered my whole life. I remember that I hurt when I was 4 yrs. old. My symptoms worsened while pregnant and my daughter is almost 3. I have gone to chiropractors and massage therapists. My rheumatologist and pain dr. gave me klonopin, ultram, ultracet, hydrocodone 10/325, soma, effexor, paxil, zoloft, cymbalta, elavil, flexeril, zanax, oxycodone, etc... at different times. Some I had to use together. I had to quit my job and now hurt 24/7. I sleep all the time and cannot to anything on my own. I also try to do pilates every other day. I can't carry my daughter or take her shopping. I can't hug my husband. I snap and yell at everyone. I have been told to stop smoking. I quit, and the condition worsened for at least 6 months. I currently smoke again to try to get my mind off the pain. I've read book after book and tried everything in my power. I feel like I'm dying. If I can't get help I don't know what else I can do. HELP

For about a week now, I get major neck pain around supper time until I fall asleep.

It begins at the base of my neck, at the back kind of where the head and neck/spine connect. I can feel two lumps/tendons or whatever.

Why is this happening? It's also spread to my forehead.

I've also been experiencing dizziness and ear pain.

For the last 3 years my joints have been hurting and getting worse. It started with my rists and they felt like the could break so easily. Now my rists arent the worst of my pain. My ankles and knees hurt so bad. I cant sleep at night. I toss and turn all night long. I can barely sit in the car for a short period of time without being in pain. My hips are starting to hurt and im worried its going to get as bad as my hips and joints.
I am only 20 years old and have no clue what this could be.

oh and im also tired a lot. I dont know if that has anything to do with it.

one more thing is that i just had a baby 3 months ago so if i had something like lymes Id think that they would of seen it when taking blood tests right??

I've been having stomach problems for the past 2 weeks. It feels like i'm going to be sick but i never throw-up. My stomach doesnt have any sharp pains for n e thing, It just feels like i'm going to get sick. I've taken a pregnancy test and it came back negative, so i know im not prego...Ive went to the doctor and he put me on something that is for stomach ulcers and acid reflux disease, it hasnt helped one bit, if anything its getting worse. He said if it deosnt get better then i need to go back to have test done...Nothing sounds good, everything makes me want to throw up just even hearing about food. I can barely eat, all ive been able to eat in a day is an over easy egg and a piece of toast...and when i do eat my stomach feels even more queezie. If it's not stomach ulcers or acid reflux disease then what can it be? I need help... pleeease
