I have tried the cushion with the cut-out and that doesn't help.

I have had lower back problems for years, but last week, on the recommendation of a friend, I went for a treatment called AtlasPROFilax - where the atlas veterbrae at the top of your spine is realigned. I feel great and haven't felt this good for years! Apparently it's a common condition that's not often diagnosed that causes problems throughout the back, neck and shoulders. You will be able to get more info on this treatment at http://www.atlasprofilax.com - go for it, it's worth it!

I find that soaking in a hot bath with 2c. of dissolved Epsom salts really takes down the pain. I do use the doughnut cushion because I can't take any pressure on my tail bone.

I also use a chiropractor who uses a gentle technique not the old pop and crack method. That helps a lot also. I've enclosed a link where you can find a chiropractor that does this technique in your area.

My tailbone is often time sore because I have broken it twice, and bruised it several other times, and I have found that alternating ice, and heat, and taking ibuprofen helps when it aches, but besides that I just learn to deal with it.

Get a tail surgically attached. Then your tailbone won't hurt. Maybe it justs misses the tail.
