Sometimes,particularly when I'm stressed out,when I go to sleep,even though I'm very tired before falling asleep I start having sort of jerks which wake me up immediately and then I find it difficult to fall asleep again.
What might it be?

My girlfriend picks at her fingers incessantly until they are raw and bleeding. She is not very aware she is even doing this and claims she can't help it. Her fingers are disgustingly raw, sore, and sometimes bleed. I've suggested getting help, informing her doctor, or just wearing gloves to no avail. This behaviour has been apparent to me for almost 6 months now. What to do??

i just went to one and he adjusted my back and it was amazing. he said that the nerve being crushed from my back being out of line was the nerve controlling my stomache. he asked if i was experiencing any heartburn or indigestion and i laughed because i've been having a lot of heartburn and tums didn't help. then someone told me that they aren't considered doctors. huh?

In less than two weeks I have a concert that I am singing a solo at and right now I have a runny nose, sore throat, and am losing my voice. Last year this happened and at the concert I could barely sing. I do NOT want this to happen this year. What are things I can do to get rid of my cold? Thing to eat? Things not to eat? Things not to do? Got any great ideas. I really want this cold GONE.

i went to the hospital last year.
they didn't know what was wrong with me for about a half hour,
i pretty much diagnosed myself by saying it was really thirsty.
they took my blood without telling me and stuck the IV in.
what happened when you went to the hospital?
just wondering, kinda bored.

He has never eaten vegetables in all the time I have known him (17 years) because they give him a terrible upset stomach. I worry because I know that veg is pretty much the most important food nutrition-wise and even though he is not in dire straits at the moment I am scared his not eating veg will catch up with him and make him unwell. It is not possible for him to eat them, or even drink veg juice to compensate because he cannot handle the stomach problems he gets when he does. What I want to know is what should he do about this? Is there some other thing he can have to substitute veg? Will anything bad happen to him? Also, if there is anyone out there who is in the same boat and cannot eat veg, what do you do about it?

There is an open sore on one side of his throat. He was swabbed for strep throat last week and it came up negative. I'm wondering if he got strep right after he was swabbed, however... The sore isn't white. It almost looks like a kanker sore and the area around it is red and irrated. Is that possible to have a kanker sore on the opening of your throat?

Does anyone have experience in ultrasound pics? My friends baby does not look right. I believe she is 7 months and it appears the hand is webbed, the face is distorted on one side and the baby's eye is wide open as if no eyelid. Please tell me I am wrong. I have a new MP3 player (Creative Zen) and it came with ear buds instead of earphones.

I have NOT put the buds far into my ears, I keep the volume on #1 or #2 so it's not loud, but my ear canals are incredibly sore for about 3 days after each time I use the ear buds.

Is this normal and my ears will someday get used to them? I gave up on buds years ago because my ear canals got sore.

My old earphones won't plug into the MP3.

My fiance says the eye has no feeling, that only the eyelid has feeling. And that pressure can be felt because of the nerves behind the eye, but the eye itself has no feeling. I don't believe it. Is there a website that discuses this?

My daughter has a cold. The common coughing and runny nose type. I don't have any cold medicine on hand, and she can't sleep. I do have ibuprofen. Will giving her an accurate dose of that help her to sleep, or is it the wrong thing to do?
I've cuddled, and rocked, and given sips of juice...she's four years old, and just miserable...pharmacies won't open till the morning.
Any advice is very much appreciated!

I put sheets on and pillow cases tuck it all in before i go to sleep, but when I awake there's nothing left but the matress, and its off the frame by 5 feet. The sheets and pilllow case are off and scattered across the room. There is no memory of any of it, I sleep hard and don't wake up for 8 hours. The matress even has rips all over it, from to to bottom.

When I'm almost *asleep* while laying on my back, I get a sudden, intense wave of nausea. It's only when I'm falling alseep on my back. If I roll onto my side or lay on my stomach it goes away. It feels a lot like loss of equilibrium, but I'm not dizzy. What's going on?

I have tried them all....warm milk, lots of sex, 5 mile run....I still don't fall asleetp until 4 or 5 am...and then it's only for 3 hours or so.
