Some people are so obsessed with their irrational fear of germs that they are overusing antibacterial hand sanitizer. Is this paranoia helping to create antibiotic immune bacteria? Will this cause the emergence of more powerful and deadly bacteria in the future?

I have a cyst under my top lid and don't know if its a solid mass or has pus/infection in it. Its causing a lot of irritation and redness; and my Dr. has given me antibiotic drops and told me to use a warm compress on the eye each evening so the cyst might drain. Its not really working so any ideas out there? I'm thinking an opthamologist should be my next step? I have no blurred vision.

I know the question has been asked of what they do during a physical, however, I already know this by having one. What I don't know is exactly what they test for when they take my blood. I know the basics is for aids, diabetes, general metabolism disorders, but what about other detailed STD tests, rare blood disorders, etc? Anyone know?

How do you get rid of food poisoning? I've tried Pepto-Bismol, Mylanta, I even tried vinegar in water (my boyfriend's mom said that'd work), but nothing has helped. I've thought about taking laxatives to get it out of my system but does that work?

I know I'm supposed to sit straight at my desk at work, but given an hour or so I'll slowly slide into a slouch without even noticing.

My feet are flat on the ground, and I have a modern chair with lumbar support, but still I find myself sitting on the edge of the chair, back curved into it, or sometimes hunched over my desk. How can I force myself to sit up straight?

I've had a headache for the last week now and paracetemol isn't helping. I can't get into the doctors ( about right for our country) and I was wondering if any of you have had a similar ailment? The headache is so bad I can't put my head on a pillow and sleep.

It seems a lot of people in the thirty or forty something age group found out from a random checks by a news channel they were bad cholesterol risk, even though they thought they were fit and healthy. In UK today only those over 50 are apparently entitled to a free check, and yet some say "bad cholesterol" poses a series risk to health and life if undetected. There also seems to be a lack of understanding among the population what bad cholesterol means, and I am far from clear on this myself? For example is changing from eating butter to eating Flora margerine good or bad for your cholesterol and is a feee check right? Advice please?

When I tried to put it back in she started crying and told me to take it back out. How do I treat the infection?
