if he hasn't eaten anything dodgy I'd say its gastric flu... he's just got to ride it out. It is very important you keep trying to get water down him though, even if its a tiny sip at a time as he will get very dehydrated very quickly. If symptoms persist after 2 days, then consult a doctor. Wish him well from me

Obviously this is some kind of gastric upset. Either a bug or some kind of food poisoning. Have any of the members of the family eaten or drunk the same things? If not it's probably a gastric infection. Sip don't gulp water and try to get some powders to add to the water to replace minerals and vitamins lost during vomiting. either from your GP or the chemist. I find adding them to a litre bottle of evian and keeping it handy to sip throughout day and night works when I have these symptoms. After the vomiting has stopped eat only bland but nourishing food such as plain boiled rice with cashew nuts, homemade mildly seasoned soups and rice crackers or ryvitas. No dairy products for a while and no spicy or very salty or peppery food. If symptoms persist visit your GP.

It sounds like a common stomach bug, but it might be best to contact your GP or maybe NHS direct.
If he cannot keep anything down, he's risking getting dehydrated. See if he can take the tiniest sip of water every 10 minutes or so, gradually increasing the amount - once his system is empty he won't vomit anymore.
Hope he feels better soon.

did you all eat the same thing? Or even go to the same resturant?
If he doesnt stop vomiting by tonight I would bring him to the ER. Hes going to get very dehitrated and weak, this way if hes there they can give him the fluids that he needs. And they can do someother test on him to see whats wrong.

I agree with the other poster... but if you want some basic first aid, then try and get him to keep drinking water... eventually it'll stay down.
It sounds like he might have a virus. Try and get him to a doctor (or get a doctor to come to you) - they can prescribe antibiotics. Make sure he gets plenty of sleep and when his stomach settles give him plain food like toast.
But DO see a doctor... don't rely on what myself or other people have said.

Call NHS Direct. There is a nasty bug going the rounds at the moment. Keep on with the drinking, but try sipping, rather than trying to keep whole glasses down.

It never fails to amaze me when people think they'll get better answers on here for medical problems than if they phoned their doctor or the NHS helplines! While you were typing your question, what expert medical attention was he getting - I bet it was none....
OR TO PUT IT ANOTHER WAY: Phone your G.P. or the NHS helpline - like NOW
