My FIL is an Asian and currently lives in an Asian country. He asked my spouse to bring him some sleeping pills that have no or minor side effects from US on the next visit (He refused to come here) He suffered a stroke about ten years ago and recovered fairly well. But he gained weight again in the past few years. He thinks the sleeping pill he is currently taking makes his body a bit imbalanced (physically - when walking)during the day. He also has minor prostatitis. I have no knowledge about sleeping pills at all and only took sleeping pills 2 or 3 times in my whole life long time ago. I remember one time the pill relaxed all my muscles and I fell asleep. When I woke up my muscles felt no strength. Another time when I took a sleeping pill, it made me hard to breath and then I fell asleep. I'm not sure if the "hard to breath" part will cause any harm to my FIL.

I'd greatly appreciate your help with names of sleeping pills, how they work, and their side effects.

Thank U very much.

I like to sleep on my side, sometimes all twisted up like a pretzel, sometimes with my arm under my body. Is there really a proper way to sleep as far as your posture go's?

Im gonna be getting only about 5 hours of sleep and I usually feel completely exhausted with any less than 6. So I was wondering, is there anything special i can do, drink or eat that will keep me awake throughout the day.

(common things: not special energy drinks, because in the morning i wont have time to get them)

Any ideas?

my best friend used to be bolimic in middle school. she stopped a few years ago, but now her body is acting very strange. she watches what she eats so she doesn't trigger her bolimia, but even when she eats a little bit, she cant hold down her food, when she throws up there is some blood and she says her intestines her (not her stomach, but her actual intestines) she gets these red dots all over her face, chest and arms. and at random moments she gets sharp pains in her heart (not sure if its from eating)

I've done some research and i found out she can get throat cancer and even die. I want to help her, but we both dont know what to do.

besides a therapist what are some ways for her to stay healthy? is there any kind of medication she can take to make her stop throwing up?

*serious answers only please. I'm so worried about her.

I must assure you, my lips ARE NOT dry at all. They are normal, and have not changed. My lips are splitting on the sides of my mouth, which is causing me a great deal of pain. I have been eating purified foods for a week now because the sides of my lips will break open. I wake up in the morning and I have blood in my mouth and on my face. My lips are not dried out and I have tried polysporn and other topyical treatments to help heal/prevent them from breaking open again, but it seems like I am getting nowhere. The sides of my lips are not healing and I want to know what is causing this and what else I can do since I have tried many different things.

What "right' shall we go after after we get 'free' health care?
Food. You can't live without food. You will die without it. Using the same logic, the should food be a right? Universal groceries!

Shelter. Same as above. especially in cold climates. you'd die without shelter. "we live in the richest nation on earth! a free McMansion for every American!"

Education. is it fair that rich kids have laptop computers to do their homework on while YOUR kid has to do his homework at the library? I say no! MICHAEL DELL! FORK THEM OVER!

Where does it end???

How long do various drugs stay in your system & show up on drug tests.?
If a person passes a test does that mean he hasn't done drugs in the past 3 days, or the past 30 days.

I know it varies among the different drugs out there & which test is given. If anyone knows of a site that gives details, I'd be grateful.

I'm a guy in my late 20s, in excellent health, but have always had a small bladder. I have to urinate a LOT -- often like once an hour during the day or even more, depending on how much i have to drink. I don't have any problems urinating or even any real sudden urgency to urinate -- i just can't hold much, and it's annoying how often i have to go, especially at night. When i was a kid i used to wet my bed every night because of this; now i *usually* can get up in the middle of the night to go, which is better but still annoying, especially when it's freezing cold out!

Is it possible by forcing myself to hold it in for a long time to stretch out my bladder so that it can hold more? Or will trying to stretch it out like that just cause more problems for my bladder in the long term? If holding it doesn't work, is there a surgery or some other treatment that could enable my bladder to hold more?

Anyone else had any experience with this? Any input would be much appreciated!

I have been sick for about a month now, I keep sneezing and I have a runny nose. All of the medicine that I have tried have not done me any good. I constantly cough, which is kind of embarassing when I go to school, especially now that it is mit-terms, and I don't want to keep disrupting everyone. My coughing has now become worse, taking a toll on my upper ribs and back.

Is there anything I can do?

My friend Robert was recently injured in an accident and broke his neck. He is paralyzed from the neck down and will remain on a ventilator for the rest of his life. He's much like Christopher Reeves was. Unfortunately, Robert lived at poverty level BEFORE all of this happened. He is unmarried, has no children and very few family available to assist him. His girlfriend seems willing to stick around for now, but they were already on rocky ground before the accident so I'm not sure how long she'll hang on. They had no transportation, he rode to work with a friend. Is there any government assistance he could qualify for to receive special transportation given the state of his condition? He'll need a special van that is wheelchair accessible. Right now we're just trying to keep him from becoming homeless, there's no way we can help with a van. Thanks! (FYI- No workman's comp on this job either. Hoping homeowner's will cover from the ladies house he was working on)
