I must assure you, my lips ARE NOT dry at all. They are normal, and have not changed. My lips are splitting on the sides of my mouth, which is causing me a great deal of pain. I have been eating purified foods for a week now because the sides of my lips will break open. I wake up in the morning and I have blood in my mouth and on my face. My lips are not dried out and I have tried polysporn and other topyical treatments to help heal/prevent them from breaking open again, but it seems like I am getting nowhere. The sides of my lips are not healing and I want to know what is causing this and what else I can do since I have tried many different things.

This usually is caused by dry lips. But sometimes things we eat such as those long ice fruit sticks that are in that cellophane wrap will cut your mouth on the sides, they do mine.Anything that is sharp, even hard potato chips,Doritos also can do this.Sun does a lot of damage to our lips.I use silk and shine blistex on my lips ,but there is many products out there that also have sun screen in them. You might want to see a dermatologist .just to make sure that there isn`t something else going on.

I had this problem a few years ago. Licking it or keeping it wet, will just make it worse. I went to the Drug Store and the Pharmacy gave me some kind of ointment I had to keep on daily until it healed. It was a type of Cortisone..Good Luck

This is your body trying to tell you something
GET A GOOD MULTI-VITAMIN and take them daily at least until the problem goes away.
