I hurt my foot somehow the other day, and I've been on crutches for a couple days. Today I tried walking on the injured foot to see if it was feeling any better and other than it feeling funny cause i haven't used it in a couple days, and an occasional burst of sharp pain in the bottom of my foot, I am able to bear weight on that foot and walk. I'm worried, however, that since I have not gone to a doctor yet to have him check out my foot that my foot might get worse if I don't continue to use the crutches.

Hey guys. My younger sister is the captain of the girls varsity basketball team and she got injured about 3 weeks ago. When she was playing their record was 6 wins-1 loss and now that she's injured they lost 13 games in a row. She feels very depressed because her team needs her. Now it's been 3 weeks after her injury and what had happened was that her knee cap dislocated and she tore her lateral ligaments. She went to the hospital a week ago after all of the swelling went down to get her knee cap pushed back. She can walk a little bit and is doing some physical therapy and she's sick and tired of watching her team lose but she's not healed yet. Do you know any way to get her to heal faster?

I threw out my neck this morning... I litterally do not have a range of movement... So I went to the pharmacy and bought a neck brace, to keep from making involuntary movents. I don't want to go to the emergency room because I like my regular chiropracter who is open on Monday and I trust him (I don't want some stranger fooling around with my neck). Does anybody have any tips on what I can do to ease the pain until then??? Heat or Ice? I am not sure what I need to do exactly and is there any chance it might go back in by itself???

I'm an African American female and, as you may or may not know, we are very prone to keyloids. I already have three, one coming from a pierced earlobe. I really want to get my nose pierced but I'am not sure if keyloids can grow out of that area. There's more cartilage in the nose region then there is tissue, I believe, which wouldn't allow a keyloid to form but I dont know for sure. I'm not going to get my nose pierced if they do. Anyone know??

My fingertip got pinched pretty hard and that area turned slightly dark/purple/red. It looks like it almost broke skin, not enough to let blood out. So I figure that there is no need to cut it. It's kinda swollen but not really that noticable.

Should I do anything to it or let it heal itself.

I got hit in the head with a bottle back in highschool, left a couple of scars on the back of my head, especially one semicircle. Recently I've been shaving my head, do to a receding hairline (another damn problem). Well anyway, I got no option in it, and I'm keepin it like that. Well the scar is showing a lot more, but I didn't care, thinkin if anything it gave me that toughguy look. Well anyway, today I brought up the fact at work that I had gotten hit with a bottle, and two of my coworkers said "oh, I thought that was a ringworm or something" . WTF? I can't grow out my hair, cause it don't look right anymore, but now most people, that don't know I got hit with the bottle, might be thinking I got a damn ringworm. What the heck can I do?

A couple of months ago I was playing in a football tournement when my knee suddenly started making a clicking noise whenever I lifted my leg to run. It was also quite painful when it clicked.
Since then it is no longer painful, however very stiff and I am almost finding it impossible to kneel or cross my legs and sometimes it starts clicking again. It is now very swolen because of a huge amount of fluid covering it.
I have been advised by a physiotherapist to not take part in any sporting activity, and he has set me exersises to do every day. But he told me that he couldn't identify the problem because of the large amound of fluid covering it.
Can any one tell me what the problem is likely to be and how serious it is? Thanks in advance if you can.

I have no cartilage between my femur and patella (actually one sixteenth of an inch is all). Both knees are affected. I need to do aerobic exercises, but the only thing I've been able to do is swim, and I can't do it year round because there are no indoor pools here. I never get to a good level of fitness because it takes me all summer to work up to a good aerobic level--if I do it too quickly, my shoulders go. I have been told that a Lifecycle Recumbent bicycle would work for me, but others have told me no bicycle at all. What do I do? Help!

I was at 6 Flags yesterday so I was walking all day. Today, my left foot hurts a lot. I cannot bear any weight on it, and my mom noticed that it looks bruised and maybe even a bit swollen. It hurts to move the ankle, and the foot feels "funny." I would normally think any pain would be because I was walking on it all day, but my right foot is just fine. What might be wrong with me? Is it possible that I fractured a bone or something with all that walking? I haven't broken a bone before, but I am having some of the symptoms that they have on WebMD on Ankle Fractures.

I recently posted a question about swelling and after some responses i have a new question. After I totaled my car when I hit a tree and broke my left foot, right tibula (compound), fibula, and femur, I went through surgery and have had NO physical therapy at all (doctor never mentioned it) and no guidance from a physician it has been 5 weeks tomorrow. I was back at work 3 weeks after the wreck and had stiches and staples removed at the 4 week mark. I am driving and working but having swelling and pain. I have an ace bandage on the leg and knee brace on the right leg were surgery was performed. Am i just being completely stupid (won't hurt my feelings if someone feels that way) and risking further injury or poor recovery? Also I am smoking cigarettes again, will that further worsen my case? Thanks for any answers out there, my doctors and surgeons had none.

I first got one last April and it was HORRIBLE! I went to the doctor, but he told me to just rest, do light stretching and take painkillers. It took like a month to go away. Then a couple of months ago I was stretching and when I got up, my lower back felt irritated. It got worse so I went to the doctor and they said that it was another lumbar sprain. He told me to rest, take painkillers, etc. Now a few days ago I was doing NOTHING and I hurt my back again. I just got stood up and noticed it felt weird and thu out the day it got worse. I'm in so much pain right now! I don't know if I should go to the doctor or what because the last two have said there's really nothing to be done. Could something else be wrong? I can't sleep or sit comfortably and its spasming. One doctor said that I need to keep my hamstrings stretched and my stomach muscles strong so as to prevent further spraining, but...I dunno what to do. Should I see a doctor? This is the 4th day now and its not feeling better...
