I was admitted and signed for Pain Management and ER Protocols. The ER staff immediately put me on Morphine (high Dose) and never discussed surgery while I was coherent and capable of making an informed Medical decision. As a matter of fact I don't remember anything for a 17 day time span and there is no signed surgical consent on record. I am single and have no one else that would be allowed to make medical decisions for me. The injury itself is rare in nature and requires procedures and equipment that are not available to my local Hospital in rural West TN. From information obtained on the internet I suffered a level II trauma with brain involvement that was not revealed as the Drs. never looked for any other damage. The Neurologic injury has just been confirmed. Since the surgery was performed without my consent written or verbal does that constitute Malpractice? And who would be liable the Hospital or Private Practice Physician? I requested to be transferred to a trauma unit

Hi,
I am 14 and have sudden knee pain in my right knee. It especially hurts when I walk up and down stairs and when I stand on my right leg and bend down. I had the same thing happen last year at the same time, except to my left knee. I had physical therapy and was on crutches for a month and a half. I really don't want to have to go through all of that again. I am not extremely active, but I do work out at the gym (running, eliptical). Does anyone have any ideas for me? Any home remedies? Thanks!

2 days ago i stabbed myself accidently with a razor utility knife. I dont think it went in very deep. I'm curios to know whether it is from striking a nerve or would striking a tendon give the numbing feeling. there is no more bleeding, can i assume that feeling will return without medical attention. I cant really afford to the medical care at the moment. thanks

I am trying to find date of my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary. Gran was in Newshame Hospital, Liverpool. She was put in plaster from beneath her arms to her legs. Has anyone an idea the length of time usualy spent in plaster in those years. The hospital gave them a party on the ward, so if i can find out how long her stay was, I might be able to find the actual date of marriage.

... on the interior of the damaged knee, suggesting that my medial meniscal repair has failed. I haven't come back too soon, staying with my P.T. schedule and taking it easy. I had been right on schedule before this set-back, with range of motion and strengthening (I was feeling great). Now, I'm worried that the stitches have torn in my medial meniscus repair and I will need another athroscopic knee surgery. It felt a little off, worse than the previous two weeks or so, after P.T. yesterday (first time doing lunges, and I'm 6'5, 230 lbs, could that have played a role?). I'm planning on giving it until the end of the weekend before I schedule an ortho. appt. and probably another MRI. I'm only 18, and the recovery shouldn't be as bad as the first time around, but it would still be a costly set-back. Does anyone have any further insight?
