Demand to see a specialist consultant and don't take no for an answer. If you have undergone courses of drugs that were expected to work and didn't then this is the best course of action.

The GP probably hasn't got the time to think about yor problem in detail - that's why he/she is dismissing you with prescriptions.

This sounds more chronic than acute so you really need to be treated by an expert in the field.

He/she will decide what needs to be done to alleviate you of your symptoms.

It's very possible that you've pulled a muscle in your groin during one of your coughing spells, and each time you cough hard enough it pulls the muscle again.

I would suggest seeing a different doctor. If you've been through several courses of antibiotics yet your symptoms keep returning, it's obvious you are not cured of your infection. Apparently the antibiotics you are taking suppress your symptoms but they are not killing the infection. It's possible you need stronger antibiotics. If your doctor won't prescribe better antibiotics, find a doctor who will.

Have you had a chest xray lately?

Obviously you should be worried, and should be talking to a doctor or a specialist rather than people on Yahoo. I'd give the doctor a ring if I was you, that's a really unusual symptom, and not being medically qualified I couldn't tell you whether it was nothing to worry about, a symptom but nothing urgent, or symptomatic of a major problem that should be being treated ASAP, and I assume you don't know either. Give your dr a ring.

wow. you poor guy. i'm no expert sorry but on this you should accept no fobbing off and demand more tests are done. ask your family members if there is any history of blood clotting or strokes or something. I'm really not sure what it is but of you're in pain you must not accept no for an answer. pain is there for a reason - it's a warning so take heed of it. I hope you're not really unwell and it's something innocent xx

i think when you cough so severely, the impact affects some of your nerves which lead down there - shouldn't realy be anything to worry about but discuss with your doctor is best.

You need to see another doctor to find out what's really wrong and causing your problems. Clearly your present one is just firefighting.
