It will depend on how "ripped" the tendons are. The doctor may need to order diagnostic tests (XRAY, MRI) to accurately diagnose your injury. If the tendon is completely torn you may need surgery to repair the tear. If it is partially torn, you may need surgery or immobilization to allow the tendon to heal. They will probably prescribe medications to control pain and decrease inflammation. You will probably need to continue physical therapy to help the tendon heal and regain your range of motion and strength.

Good luck.
