Every day for the past month, I have taken about 3,200 mg of ibuprofen a day. I plan to follow this regime for many more months, possibly years. Could this have serious side effects? Please don't tell me to talk to my doctor... I want your opinion.

I went tanning today, and the receptionist person like made a mistake and put me in a bed with stronger bulbs then I normally use, I got sun burned. Besides aloe, what can I put on it to help the discomfort level go down??? Thank you!

I am having sever sharp pains in the lower right side of my body. I looked up the symptoms for appendicitis but Im not really showing any symptoms besides maybe one. Could it just be cramping or something else? Should I consult a doctor?

My knee was killing me, so I went to the doctor and he injected it with about 4cc of cortisone after he examined it.
My knee feels so much better. Do you know anything about cortisone injections and how long the pain free result will last and what should be the outcome?

Hi all,

My six year old son was playing outside today, and he got a thick sliver under his nail. It looks like it went into his nail at the side, and unfortunately there is no 'end' sticking out. I tried my best to get at it with tweezers, and clipped the nail as much as I could to get at it, but no luck. Is it a possibility that it will come out naturally, or will it get infected? I am not sure if I should take him to the doctors, as they will probably have to cut a chunk of his nail away. I tried taking a picture, but it won't focus enough on the nail. Any thoughts?

Hi people, I've broken my little finger on my left hand (which I've done many many times before) but this time I can't straighten it out at all, I've got it strapped to the ring finger but it's bend, is there any other way I can splint it so it's straight or doesn't it matter that it's bent??

When I get out of bed in the morning or have been sitting for a short time, I am unable to put my right heel on the floor because of the severe pain. I have looked for information on the net and have found Plantar fasciitis which has the symptoms I experience. I haven't been to the GP yet. In my job I am standing for long periods and end up shuffling about because of foot and heel pain. I am miserable at this stage, and wonder if anyone has a magic solution or more information.

I've had this intermittent, sharp pain in my lower left abdomen since December. I am 24 years old. I went to the doctor in Feb. about it and he said it was a bladder infection and gave me Bactrim. It did not help my pain. I guess you could say the pain in right above my LEFT thigh.

i was throwing a football around with my guy friend.. and he threw it pretty hard and i caught it oddly and jammed my ring finger pretty bad.. it hurt like hell and 24 hours later it still does.. but it didn't start to swell until about 2 hours or so later.. this morning i woke up however, and my whole entire finger is black and blue, huge, and i can barely move it. i've had a whole handful of people look at it, and they all keep saying "it could be broken", at first they were all like " its only jammed the swelling should come down soon " but it hasnt. anyways, my question is.. what should i do? is it broken you think or just jammed? and if i go to the doctors/hospital later tonight (cause i'm working at the moment) is it too late? by the time i get there it will be probably 30 hours after the incident.. will they be able to fix it? please help, thanks in advance =/

kohl, their eyeliner. It is made by smashing lead and water into a paste. Do you think it would be safe to do this with pencil lead and apply it in front of the class with a brush. Will it hurt my eyes/ vision/ breathing/ health?

I've had sharp, spasmy pains under my right rib cage in the front towards the side for over 2 weeks now -- and I've had xrays and an abdominal/renal ultrasound which all read "normal". But the pain is still sharp and concentrated in the same place. I didn't fall or have any unusual activity to cause it. My range of motion is fine and I can lift, bend, etc. Any ideas?

see i have pain in my joints and muscles and the doctors havent found out what it is and it just hurts like poooooo!!! it hurts in my hips left shoulder ankles wrists and lower arms. i know that is a lot!!! hehe
