I've had sharp, spasmy pains under my right rib cage in the front towards the side for over 2 weeks now -- and I've had xrays and an abdominal/renal ultrasound which all read "normal". But the pain is still sharp and concentrated in the same place. I didn't fall or have any unusual activity to cause it. My range of motion is fine and I can lift, bend, etc. Any ideas?

They said that my bloodwork was all normal (a week ago) -- just that I was dehydrated. I've been drinking a lot of water all week and no improvements. They checked my liver with the ultrasound and said it was normal.

abdominal and renal ultrasounds? did they by chance also check the gall bladder? You may want to have it checked if they did not.

It might be precordial catch syndrome. Do you randomnly get the pains and is it worsened when you cough, laugh, or breathe in deep. Then when you get the courage to take a deep breath in, it's gone. If you have this, it's nothing to be worried about and it's normal for teens. I get it too a lot. Look it up in google if you want to know more.

You must get to the doctor right away!!! this happened to me when I was 14. I had to get operated on. There was a small fetal pig growing in my gullbladder. i still look at him everyday. They let my put him in a glass jar and its on my dresser. It turned out the pain was because he was trying to knaw his way out of my gullbladder. what a little rascal!!! I went to this special place called F.P.R.F.T.G. (Fetal Pig Removal From The Gullbladder. It is becoming more common and you could have my little pigs brother growing in you right now!!! Go ASAP!!!

Have you had a complete blood analysis done recently / when you went for your exam, including a complete liver function profile??
