Fixing Governor Schwarzenegger's broken femur seemed like a major medical procedure. Doctor's inserted a metal plate used cables and all kinds of stuff. What happened to the days of a simple plaster cast and when did all the metal implants begin that create the bionic man?

I remember reading somewhere that if you use acne medication that you should not go out in the sun. I am currently going to a tanning bed a few times a week, so I was wondering what would be the best thing to do?

Should I use the medication at night, and then if I am going tanning a certain day, just not use the medication that morning?

Thanks, and btw its called acne free, its like proactiv but its a walmart brand. X_X

Like with most drugs, I'm thinking "no". Lately, I've been taking 1-2 of those little blue tabs to get to sleep at night. I've noticed I have to take more to feel the effect and also take with alcohol. Plus, they seem to take on hours after I take them and then last into the morning when I don't want to be sleepy. How much risk is involved here? I'm currently about 220 lbs 5'7", no not all fat :) reasonable shape otherwise. Is there a better alternative? I don't take any other drugs, but I do drink occasionally. TIA for any help!

I rolled in in a basketball game, and sat out. I could walk on it, painfully. I played the rest of the game doing a kind of skip-run as not to put weight on it. I then played a soccer game and another basketball game, doing the same type of run. My ankle is twice its normal size on the outside bone and is very very sore. i keep it elevated when I can. I have a fabric brace on that helps a bit. I went to school today but came home before then end of third hour because my ankle hurt very badly and I was tired of walking on it. Does this sound serious? When can I get back in the game? I have a very bad limp at the moment.

Anxiety. Can you get it everyday at the same time?I wake Im usually tired .. I get up and get going and feeling ok and then after breakfast I go things around the house..After about three oclock I get a general feeling of uneasiness..like something doesn't feel just right ..I have been feeling better but going in and out of the cold for a few days. My ears feel stopped up and constantly hear what sounds to be my heart in my ears,I have been told this is a benign condition ,I get around doing things and seem to get a little out of breath which in turn perhaps it makes me anxious and then I feel weak with a general uneasiness about myself ,a feeling of being kind of shakey not quite steady.I usually lie around for awhile and then off and on I feel ok and then later in the evening although the weakness seems to pass i still feel that something just is a miss..Could this all be anxiety causing itself or could I be ill and not know it or could it just be use of body when not used to it?

I pulled the muscle in my lower left leg after a long and vigorous workout even though I tried to stretch out afterwards. I'm on a school sports team and I've got to be up and running by tomorrow.

I sleep with earplugs, my door closed, and blankets over my head. But any little noise I hear bothers me sooo much. The fridge is in the next room, but somehow I can still hear the vibration or something.

My back hurts a lot. I've went to the physical therapist and have to do these exercises. That was about three years ago. I've stopped the exercises cuz I don't know if they really worked. Is there someplace special I can go to help with my back. Is there any good exercises out there?

Someone recently told me that if you put rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and put it on your belly button then your fever will go down.

That same person also told me that if you put a lime in your belly button it will do something else.

The person who told me this was a nurse. I've heard this before, but...where did she get this? What's the reasoning behind it?

hello all, I'm 28 weeks pregnant and I walk alot, so walking shouldn't hurt as much as it has the past few days. It's like my whole left side from my hip bone to the bottom of my ribs cramp right up, I can't even walk a block without this happening, let alone working (I'm a grocery store cashier, the repetitive nature is getting to me too). do you think it's worth seeing a doctor or is there something that I can take to get rid of this pain/cramp? cause I walk everywhere getting to the doctor will be excurciating.

At the second joint in my thumb where it joins with the metacarpal I have a large bump where it looks like a bone is popping out but I can still move my thumb with a minimal amount of pain, however to touch or move my thumb in certain ways is very painful... what could be wrong? and what could be protruding from my skin?
