General Health Care - July 2006

Hi, i just wanna ask what are the signs that one may need glasses. Well, actually, i'm having the problem...lately i've been squinting my eyes and blinking a lot...and i don't THINK i can see as well as i could. so, before i go to an optics centre for a checkup, can anyone tell me basic signs that i really DO need them.

I really don't want cos i'm a photographer, and it's kinda difficult to work with glasses. adding on, for 15 years, i've never worn glasses! help...

I am 16 and I have been getting migranes since I was about 6. I got to the point where if I take asprins, one or two doesn't work. I take three or four. I know that is not healthy and I have been looking for other alternatives. I began taking vicodin, but it still doesn't help much. I have Imitrex nasal spray that seems to work about 50% of the time. Does anyone have any suggestions on what I could do to get rid of them?

It kinda fades to the right. He has had his share fair of concussions,
and he plays on the computer., with out his glasses. With my family history, it could be any thing.

does anyone else take the prescribed painkiller tramadol.its used for severe to moderate pain.if so what are your side effects???mine are terrible withdrawel but at the same time a great painkiller.

I have been having lots of trouble sleeping for an extremely long time now. My work schedule is not normal. There are days that I will have to be to work for 7:30AM and the next day I won't have to be there until 2 PM. Last week I had a shift that started at 5PM. The bottom line is that every day it's different hours. I wake up different times of the day. Does that have anything to do with why I can't sleep? I try to take an over the counter sleeping vitamin, but it doesn't help. I've taken prescriptioned pills before, but they only worked for like 2 weeks. After that I became immune to them I guess you could say. I have read that hot tea, milk, and even excercising before bed will help. I've tried all of those and no luck yet.

Well For the last few weeks I have getting bite up while I sleep..It isn't bed bugs, or spiders. I have been working alot in my lawn but as soon as I walk in the door I take a quick shower to wash off. Now is it possibe I could be bringing Chiggers in to my home? Can they be bitting me and my husband while we sleep. They Bites are huge and itchy. They can take up to a week to heel and they are leaving ugly scars. Is there any home remedies I can made do to stop the itch and heel the bite so it won't leave a scar? I have been getting my bites on my back, stomach, under my breasts, and on my waist line. I am going nuts with the itch nothing over the counter is helping me. I am suffering with these bites...I also seen a doctor and what I was given didn't help...

I had an open compound fracture of the tibia & fibula on 12/10/05. I had surgery to install plate/screws. On 06/15/06 I had the plate/screws removed because of infection. I'm on various antibiotics. I still can't walk without crutches. If I leave my leg down for even a short time it swells. I use ice packs for the swelling. I'm miserable, haven't worked since 12/10/05, going broke. Help! This injury is just above my left ankle, The cut is just up from my ankle bone on the big toe side of my leg and extends upward 7-8" up my leg kind of in an "S" shape. The wound itself is puckered around the old incision. When swelling does occur, the whole area looks like it's going to explode. The color is from natural skin color until you get to the injury itself, the it's darker, kind of purple looking. It looks terrible. Looks like knots could be on the inside. If there are any professionals out there that can help, please do. I need to go back to work. . . . Paul

It's 5am EDT, and I CANNOT fall asleep. I lie down for half an hour or so, and when I am still fully awake after that I get up and read, or take a bath, burn some chamomile incense, etc. Tried a hot drink...nothing. Any suggestions? I'm not interested in taking drugs to make me sleep, by the way...please help!

i think i have anemia again, i've been donating blood several times ( more than 7 times in less than a a half of a year) and i'm having the same symptoms as the first time i was diagnosed with anemia.

can you tell what kind of food do i need to eat to increase the iron ? i don't want to take medicine, it makes me sleepy. and also my mother's will kill me....
