its called postural edema. if any ones feet are in the down position for long periods of time the swell

Are you sure your feet are getting bigger?
It might be that the rest of your body is shrinking in the afternoon!
;-)

It's just gravity. When your standing or walking a lot fluids will find their way to your feet due to gravity and your feet are (under normal conditions) at the lowest part. It might get that worse that your feet will really hurt especially when you're wearing tight shoes.
Try standing on your head for a longer time and you'll get a headache. That's caused by the same principle.

If you move about and wear shoes/socks, that is why. Pressure. You are also two inches shorter during the day because of spinal compression from standing. Laying down relaxes the spine and you grow in your sleep.

You may be suffering from diabetes or foot cancer. I recommend a bar of Exlax and two aspirin.
