If she is smoking weed you should be able to smell it easily enough. If you can't smell anything, but you suspect her of being under the influence, then she may be doing some bad stuff, which translates as domestic drug abuse. These are not drugs at all, but will be able to get her high.
Look out for aerosol products, household cleaners, solvent products, airplane glue etc.
This is really bad stuff and can do serious damage. If, however, she is smoking weed, then at least she is doing some good drugs. I'm not kidding - believe me, given the choice between smoking weed (which will open her mind) or sniffing aerosol products (which will really f- her up in a very bad way indeed), you should pray that she is smoking some of mother nature's finest rather than some awful chemicals which will soften her brain and turn it to mush.
Lastly - please don't go sneaking around her room. It displays a lack of trust which will cause her to lose faith in you. This will make her more inclined to do whatever drugs she can lay her hands on. Get your facts straight. Don't come on like Nancy Reagan. It is important that you can have a serious and well-informed conversation about this. Most teens will experiment with drugs; it is a fact of life.
Don't get all hysterical if she is experimenting with dope/weed/pot whatever they call it in your neighbourhood. It won't kill her, it'll just make her a little giggly and develop a craving for snacks. But if she is experimenting with household products/any kind of chemicals, then you should take action because that stuff is just B-A-D.
Good luck, I hope you can sort it out. Weed isn't a bad drug - most people I know - teachers, senior managers, professionals - smoke it, and it hasn't done anyone any harm, though Nancy Reagan would have you believe otherwise.

The list of things that can be used to get high are pretty long. You can even get high off of permanent markers and super glue. Most teens probably keep permanent markers and some sort of super glue in their rooms but don't use them for anything other than the intended purpose.
Unless you already know that your daughter is getting high off of things, don't jump to conclusions just because she has something in her room....unless of coarse she would have absolutely no other need for that item. If you have to confront her about something, tell her you were cleaning her room or putting something away and found X then ask why she has it.

Metal and plastic-bonding glues (polythenes), paint thinner, nail polish remover, cigar butts, cigarette papers, marijuana seeds and weeds, pipes for inhalation, injection syringes, tourniquets, alcohol, straws for huffing cocaine, unmarked medication bottles or medications that were prescribed for someone else who does not live there are several things you could watch out for.
