A person (claiming to be a pre-med student) told another person on the forum that cold sores are NOT the herpes simplex virus. She said she gets them all the time but warned that they were contagious.

Good grief! You would think that if you were going to put your source as "pre-med" you may actually do some research before spouting completely false answers. Right?

I recently tested positive for herpes. My doctor told me that from the looks of my lesion that I could have contracted herpes about a month ago. I've been with my boyfriend for a couple of months and we have been having unprotected sex so I know I've contracted herpes from him. I recently told him and we both decided to stay together through this but he is worried about the sex. He doesn't like the way condoms feel and is really worried that he won't enjoy sex with a condom. My doctor recently prescribed Valtrex for my condition and I have told him to get checked up so that he can start taking medicine also. So my question is since we both have herpes can we still have unprotected sex?

i used a condom with a girl that i don't know. we only have sex for like 5 min then i pulled out. i know that i didn't came. what are the chances that i contrated hiv if she did have the virus?

Hi,a friend of minehad unprotected sex, Saturday last week, today is Tuesday and he doesn't don't know if it's his idea, or what, but today he woke up and i've heard that swollen lymph nodes are a common HIV symptom, and he said that he touch his neck and he feels a little "ball" right next to his chin and a little below, on his left side of the neck...but only 1 week has gone by,,, does this mean he is infected?

I thought I had a boil on my bum, turns out its herpes. I've been with one guy (my hubby) and he doesn't have it! What the hell!!!!

Anyways, I have an outbreak and we are suppose to be taking some friends out to a waterpark when my little friend made his appearance on my rear end. My doctor took one look at it and said it was herpes..without a culture or blood test..uggggghhh!

Sorry, I'm still dealing with the shock. Can I still go swimming? Its on my butt cheek, its gross, it hurts and I'm running a gambit of emotions from acceptance to utter denial!

These are plans we made over a month ago and now I have to cancel or what? What about spreading it..its on my butt cheek, can my hubby or niece get it from using the toilet after me? I ran out and bought clorex wipes for the toilet.

God help me and can you please too?

Not to say that they shouldn't make it public but if people new it was there they would not be as carefull because they could just get a shot and clear it up. With that worse viruses could develop where the cure would not work anymore.

i recieved oral sex for the first time 6 months ago. after that i had a 2-day yeast infection (or something like it) and then it went away. i havent had any vaginal problems since then, nor have i had sexual contact (besides myself). also, i had a yeast infection when i was much younger and not sexually active. is there a professional with any idea what that reaction was exactly?

the opening of my vagina is growing! when you spread the lips you cant see inside. it looks like new skin or little flaps are growing. could this be an std? the inside doesn't look or feel the same it is tighter and it hurts to have sex, when you put your finger inside the cervix is swollen or closer down.
