Each condition is tested differently. Syphilis by blood test. GC by cultures of semen from the male urethra or cervical cultures from women. Trich. can be seen through a microscope when secretions are placed on a microscope slide. Herpes is tested by obtaining a culture of the sores or by visualization of blisters in the genital area-docs usually confirm by cultures. Condyloma-genital warts by sight on men. Condyloma also seen on Pap Smears and is the main reason for uterine cancer in women if left untreated. HIV by a blood test. Although yeast infections are not considered to be a STD, they can sometimes be passed to men. Hope this is what you were looking for.

There are several STD tests, depending on what the symptoms are. For example, HIV(Human Immune Virus)can only be verified by a blood test. The same with Syphillis(it shows up with a blister, then goes into the bloodstream).
Other diseases do show up with smelly discharges and can be detected via taking a sample of this(by a physician), who sends it to a lab to have it tested.

Every STD is different.
Most are taken by blood samples.
Herpes is usually diagnosed by a physical exam. And HIV can take 6 to 12 months to show up positive on a test.

I'm not sure what you mean. Usually an STD panel consists of HIV, Hepatitis B, Syphilis, Gonorrhea, Chlamydia. You can have herpes added...

STD is sexually transmitted disease...each illness (HIV, gonorrhea, hepatitis...) is only similar to the other because they can be transmitted sexually. some are viruses, some bacteria, some fungi, so they all have different tests and treatments.

One of the best tests for Gonorrhea/Chlamydia is by DNA probe from a genital swab. Other tests may require serum (HIV)
