You can live a very long time. Remember, life is what happens when you are thinking about other things. Enjoy your day to day life and don't think about the future. No one knows how long they will live. Carpe Diem!

well...today...with the new antiretroviral medications...a VERY long time. HIV was discovered 25 years ago, so today, 25 years would be the longest. nobody really knows because it was only discovered in 1981. there are patients living longer, 20 years + on multiple drug regimens. There are even people that are infected with HIV and have no symptoms and no apparent sequele from the HIV after almost 25 years! although there are a VERY small number of these people.

That varies depending on the person. There are alot of factors to consider. First off, is the person on meds, do they eat properly, exercise, do they smoke, drink, do drugs. If a person is living a healthy lifestyle he/she could probably go for 20-30 years. depends on the persons age also. I've also read on the Internet some people don't even take the HIV meds and they're fine. I don't understand how though.

I was told I have about 20 + years to live when I was diagnosed. However, when HIV/AIDS came about back in the day, people had hardly any time to live...like a year or two. Medicines have advanced a lot and I'm sure they will advance even more.
