why do teenagers want to have sex at the age of 13??????????

At 13 they have all these hormones running through them, and they start noticing and thinking about their opposite sex in a different way. And mistakenly think...that means they have to have sex. Only they are wrong.
In countries like India, 13 year old are not thinking about sex...they are thinking how much to study and where to get in life....so I think it is the choice you make -- want to think about sex and day dream and have sex...or succeed in life but working hard now. Having sex at 13 wont get anyone in college, studying will.
It all depends on the values instilled in each child by their parents and more importantly the society. It is all around them in the school and they have the peer pressure expectations.

Back in the 1800s, girls reached sexual maturity around age 15 and were told to 'wait for marriage' -- around age 16 or 17. Two years isn't all that long and most girls waited.

Now, girls are reaching sexual maturity at 11 and 12 and being told to wait until they get married, but finish school before getting married. 10-15 years is a LONG time to wait for a young person with raging hormones!

For some girls, they realize they simply won't be able to wait until they 22 or 24, and if you're going to fail anyways, you may as well fail now as later. If the girls are ready, you can bet the boys are going to be ready to join them!

Because they are young and naive, they think that life is perfect and that nothing can happen to them, they feel as if, they could NEVER get an STD or they could NEVER get pregnant, they are practically oblivious to the world around them, feeling this way is nice until, something DOES happen, they were most likely pressured into having sex, orrrrrrr, they felt that they had to "shed" their innocence, which, statistics show, most people regret....if your 13, or a friend of yours is, tell them to understand whats going on in the world and DONT have sex until ur married

It's the teenagers choice, whether they want to or they feel pressured to (like peer pressure). But it's their personal choice. I personally think that is WAY too young. Even if they are physically able to do it, they are not emotionally mature at 13, and they usually don't think about the consequences from it, like becoming pregnant.

B/c their parents dont have a clue what their kids are doing!! Its that simple. My parents were very observant of my and my sisters' "recreational activites" growing up, and I waited until I was 19 before have sex for the first time. Some parents today are too busy with their own lives to worry about what their kids are doing.

At 13 you are probably just starting to look at the other sex in another light. girls that were once just girls, now become GIRLS. Its a time in life where you are beginning to transition from childhood to adult hood. Lets face it at 13 you are much closer to adulthood than to childhood. In just 5 years they'll legally be adults. Their bodies are already transitioning to that phase but their mind has not, here lies the problem. Your bod wants to function at an adult level yet you are not mature enough to handle adult situations. It takes a strong will to resist nature and it takes good parenting to instill good values in a kids mind.

I don't think 13 year old kids want to have sex they just think that is what they are supposed to do...There is no age requirement on being sexually active....Just take your time and don't do anything till your ready...No pressure...You have your whole life don't rush things.

b/c hormones r very high then! at that age we think we old enough b/c were teens so we feel like experimenting and seeing 4 ourselves if its as good as the tv and magazines say it is!
