I was just told at Wal-Mart that they cannot fill this prescription anymore. The government is taking it off the market because it is bad for the environment. Do not know how since it goes into you lungs. Has anyone else heard this. They are asking the dr to prescribe something new called ProAir HFA which is an albuterol sulfate inhalation aerosol but not dangerous for the environment. I do know it sure costs a whole lot more. It's not on the $4.00 list anymore. Can anyone help with this question? Thanks. Barb

I am working at a case study but only the pathophysiology part.
a case study to a patient suffering from Tuberculosis stage 3, and just undergone pleural effusion.
it is a group work actually. the "pathophysiology" was assigned to me.
how am i gonna start it?it's my first-time to do such study.
we were told to do the book-based and patient-based pathophysiology..
the patient said, she was hospitalized way back months ago, diagnosed with "bronchitis",
then the clinic doctor gave her medicines but did not do anygood with her condition.she was hospitalized for a week.
then was referred to a certain doctor in a hospital..undergone pleural effusion and later diagnosed TB stage3..

but couldn't find anything. Just wondering...I've always been curious about why...it's so annoying. It's like my cough has an alarm clock and at about 8pm, it wakes up.

I am 36 and quit smoking about a month ago. Right after I quit my asthma went out of control. I have had asthma sense I was 12 and it was only out of control once and only for a day. My asthma has been out of control for a month now my doctor put me on a lot of stuff Alupent (didn’t work) Advair ( allergic to) Atrovent ( didn’t work) Prednisone (didn’t do much) and now albuterol which is not really working at all. I go through a bottle a week. I do not have insurance so I used Primatene mist for years and it worked great but now it seems to cause my asthma to get worse. My albuterol makes me cough like crazy when I try to use it but I do have an asthma cough. I don’t wheeze I cough always have. I have had chest x-rays (clear) EKG (perfect). My doctor put me on an antibiotic just in case but nothing changed. I do not have bronchitis. Has anyone else ever had this happen?

Just recently my grandma had caught pneumonia and had to be hospitalized. She was lucky that she had no fluids in her lungs when they took X-Ray of her chest. So she got discharged 2 days later with some antibiotics, but 2 days later, the doctor called and said that they had found something small in her lungs and it might be a tumor. She just recently got a CT scan and went for checkup but still havent gotten results. The doctor said she might have to go get a biopsy to see if it's cancer or not.

Ok so here's what I'm wondering, is there a slight possibility that it could be lung cancer or something that has to do with the lungs? She has never smoked before in her life.

Some information would be nice.

mother has COPD. she is 63 - 90lbs - stays in bed - 88 oxygen level - oxygen given on #3 24/7 - I think I am seeing signs of her getting worse but not sure what I should look for before calling 911 or making her go to the doctor. Some mornings it seems as if she will never wake up or she seems out of it. These signs have just started showing up. she has been on oxygen now for about four years. Any information on this questions is good information.

I am asthmatic and I currently have a bad chest cold, I lost my voice yesterday, and I am very congested today. When I first got up, my peak flow was only about 100, after an inhaler, it is now 300, but I still feel really congested.

Every day, regardless of season, place, weather, etc., I suffer hopelessly (having a partner who smokes like a chimney is no help, either!) I have a severe case of allergic rhinitis, and unless I take an Allegra or sth similar, I sneeze all day long, with a runny/itchy nose. If by any chance my nose is not running, then inevitably I suffer from sinus pain on my head/neck/shoulders, which necessitates taking painkillers. So unless I take a drug of one sort or another, I continue to live in misery. Does anyone have similar problems? I am sure there are people suffering from headaches and allergies, but I mean on a continual (non-seasonal) basis like mine. Different doctors gave me different (and sometimes conflicting!) advice ranging from correction of the deviation of the septum to removal of nasal polyps to allergy shots (which I had had for about 3 years to no avail!) to post nasal drip regulation, etc. Did anyone go thru any of these procedures, and more importantly, did it help? Thx
