I have been recently diagnosed with having HSV-1 in my genital area. I got it from my ex who failed to mention he got cold sores. I am out on the dating scene again and want to know my chances (in percentages preferably) of passing it on to others. I have read all sorts of contradicting literature and want to set the record straight. Please and thank you :)

I think that the connection between radiation proctitis and what it has done to me was relatively clear, but I hate to disappoint anyone that thinks it is related to being gay. I have done the direct applications of cortisone but allergic to sulfa drugs, hence cannot take Rawata. The doctor has sedated me and attempted 4 repairs with a combination of Formalin applications and argon laser treatments as we are long past the stage here where topical cortisone is helping.
But thanks for the input as maybe someone else can be helped by it.

I had amblyopia (lazy eye) as a child. I wore corrective classes from age 3 until 14, at which time my eye doctor said it had self corrected. He said I would no longer require glasses, but the vision in that eye would never be as strong as the other eye. Now that I'm 33, I feel the formerly lazy eye getting weaker. Does anyone know if there is still a risk of me losing more or all of the vision in the previously lazy eye?

I was in a bad auto accident 19 months ago and have been placed on 100% disability with Social Security. I had major back surgery and have had complications from that surgery. I have to use a walker to get around. And with that, I can only take a few steps without screaming in pain! The doctors have done many procedures trying to ease and control the pain, with no luck. I will have pain pump implant surgery the second week of January, but this will only help the pain tolerance about 40%. I will still have the severe nerve damage for the rest of my life. My problem is this. The doctors keep me on bed rest most of the time. How can I lose weight? I have gained so much weight in the last 19 months. I am not allowed to bend, raise my arms or walk very much at all. I know that I have packed on the pounds, because I can't move that much. So, everything I eat goes straight to my hips, stomach and legs. I am miserable!!! How in the world can I lose any weight?

This "leftover" from cancer is really getting to me. I've had 4 surgical treatments, several cortisone treatments and antibiotics, periods of bleeding, discharge and extreme urgency issues that have me on disability. I just made it back from the store barely. I can't go for walks, interact with people, or can I afford more professional intervention as my health insurance stopped and the new policy won't go into effect until next year. I was told it would start right away but it turned out to be a lie. No one cares as I contacted media and State people who are supposed to step in and help when trash like this happens. I guess they do if it's high profile enough to make them some bucks. I'm venting here some, but I'm looking for someone that has been there and found a way back.

for the last 2 months or so Ive been dealing with twitching in the face, sometimes the eyelid, sometimes the chin and recently my eye brow, Ive also have had an increase in my headaches, almost daily (i originally thought allergies now Im not so sure). Im wondering if anyone else has this happen to them and if they reached the point of seeing a doctor and what the prognosis was. Ive researched a little online and see MS symptoms do link to this, but I dont want to worry about that unless I have to. Any thoughts?

I've been suffering from ear/sinus pressure a little over a week now. I've been to my doctor and he said that I don't have an infection, just pressure. I've been taking Sudafed, with no luck. I'm now trying Mucinex D and Claritin D. No relief so far. Has anyone else ever had this happen? How long can I expect the pressure to last? It's driving me crazy!!!

I have the following symptoms:
I had vertigo a few days ago with a slight ache and pressure in the ears. It felt as if it were blocked. It's lessened and I no longer feel severe vertigo (dizziness), but I still have a headache (not a migraine though). To make it worse...I'm fighting off insomnia...I can't fall asleep and when I do i wake up half an hour later feeling like i was just on the verge of sleep but can't quite fall into a deep sleep. I went to the doctor, but all he said was..."I'm not sure what you have. You don't have an ear infection. You don't seem like you have a virus. It could be BPPV or something else. Let's wait two weeks and we'll go from there." I've waited a week and it's become a pain in the butt. Has anyone felt this before?

I am having a disagreement concerning this matter and need your worthy opinion.Do people always know when they are having a heart attack , are there symptoms or does it always creap up silently? Is pain in the left shoulder blade and heaviness in the left arm more a symptom of heart attack or cancer?I know it can be anything but please decide and help me to settle this matter.

For some reason, I don't remember it being this rigid. I was scratching my leg and happened to notice that my shin bone was really bumpy. Could this be a symptom of calcium deficiency or some other underlying condition?

I had tinnitus in the right ear, I went to see my ENT and he said that I had ear wax on my eardrum and liquid inside my ear. He removed it and the ringing stopped!! Soon after that, my other ear started ringing and now both ears are ringing but not at the same time. When my left ear rings, my right doesn't and vice versa!! What is wrong with my ears? The ringing started right after I had wax removed from my right ear with a water gun!!
