My 11-year old cousin has a more mild case of Tourette Syndrome. His parents are in denial that he has it and are not willing to treat it or seek counseling. I have done my research, and while he does not have a problem with his speech or blurting out words, he consistently has ticks, and he snorts, whistles and is always twitching and has rapid bodily movements. If you have any experience with Tourette Syndrome, might you be able to help me? I would appreciate any information you might be able to provide or ways he and his family can get help.

Thank you in advance.

Is it feed a cold and starve a fever, or is it starve a cold and feed a fever? The first would make sense since your body temp rises when you eat.

I had my 3rd one in two days just 20 minutes ago. It started yesterday. It starts off w/ a small pain and builds up quickly in my head to the point where I want to cry. Then, it goes away as quickly as it came. Sometimes there is a little slight pain here and there for a few minutes after it goes away but nothing like what it was. Does anyone know what this is or where I can get information that might help me figure out what it is? I am scheduling a doc's appointment as soon as posible so dont waste you time telling me "I dont know go see a doctor". Im not stupid. Im just impatient.

I have been quite ill for some time with problems with my gallbladder and Iam not unable to eat very little if at all. I asked my GP to refer me to a consultant privately and although Iam getting worse have been hoping I would see the consultant who would put me forward for gallbladder surgery asap. I now found out today that my GP surgery hadnt even bothered to send the consultant a letter asking for the appointment. I just feel like crying. Any advice

I have been having medical issues that are driving me and my family nuts!!! I have a husband and 2 small children and I am constantly battling these medical problems.

Since the birth of my last child, who is now 3, I have been having these problems:
-Migraines
-menorrhagia-I literally hemmoraged last saturday
-constant fatigue
-tachycardia-take cardiazem
-periods of bracycardia
-weight gain (I was always super thin all of my life until 3 yrs ago.)
-rare spells of complete weakness (My BP goes sky high, my HR goes high,
and I shake badly.)
-I am thirsty all of the time-I probably drink over 2 gallons of water a day!
-Really bad gas pains at least 2-3 times a week.

I have been to the ER, I have been to a cardio, neuro, rheumat...ologist, and my GP. No one can find 1 central thing wrong-just a jumbled up list of problems.

I am so sick of having medical issues! If these symptoms sound familiar to a DX that you know about:PLEASE let me know! I'm desperate!

Thanks

Do you know about gallbladder disease?
My doctor is sending me for an ultrasound on my gallbladder. I called to ask if there were mild stomach flus going around. I've been having problems with nausea, some vomiting, queasiness, especially when I think about most foods, stomach pain, and difficulty burping. I also have a lot of low back pain but that may be unrelated. When my stomach hurts I sometimes lay down and apply a bit of pressure to my stomach and diaphragm. They feel quite hard.

My doctor tells me that problems with the gallbladder can run a whole range of symptoms from mild to severe attacks. Does anyone have some info. that you could share with me? The online sites I've been to don't really cover the range of severity. I have to wait another month for my ultrasound. That seems excessively long to me. That's our universal healthcare system for you.

When he would pee in the stool you couldn't see it. I have taken him to the doctor they told me is 5-8, they told me to wait for about a week and check it again an it turn out 3-5, Then they told me to come back in about 2 weeks and get tested again an it turn out 5-8 again. They told him to keep drinking alot of water and he has but nothing change.

My mother who is 83 years old
was given an injection of Narcan a opioid antagonist, that almost killed her. She has a bad heart, high blood preasure etc. and 2 months ago fell and crushed a disk in her back which the doctors were giving her a 100 milligrams of Fentanyl plus neurontin to help boost the performance. She had awoke complaining of having trouble breathing, I called 911 and proceded to sit her up. She was breathing on her own, pulse was 97 and blood preasure was 170 over 74 she was talking and making sense. When I got to the emergency room she was screaming in pain, complaining that she was in so much pain she thought she was dying. Her legs and arms were shaking and I thought she was dying. I told the ER Doctor that I was afraid that she might be having withdrawl symptoms because they took the pain patch off of her. He assured me that it would take a long time for that to happen. He didn't even realize that she had been given Narcan which put her into immediate withdrawl!
