my father-in-law got his chest x-ray done on the doctor's advice..i need more info on the same

The diaphragm is the main muscle of respiration. It divides the abdomen from the chest. The right half is normally slightly higher than the left on X ray, because the liver is under it.However, if it is higher than normal, there can be two reasons. Either something is pushing it from below or pulling it from above. This may be due to a lesion in the liver or right lung.
